Quite nice, refreshing and sweet. As most LIthuanian beers it was easy to dirnk and never get bored of them.

butelka. "gyvasis" oznacza żywy choć słyszałem, że to okreslenie jest zabronione na Litwie w stosunku do piwa. Choć prawdą jest, że to piwo zawiera żywe drożdże. Niestety moja ocena jest niska, jak na piwo niefiltrowane i niepasteryzowane smak powinien być o wiele bogatszy. Fajna butelka i cena też na to wskazuje więc duże rozcvzarowanie podobnie jak i inne piwa tej marki. Kwaśne i pozostawia kwaśny jakby popsuty posmak. Generalnie nie choć może spróbuję jeszcze kiedyś z kija na Litwie

From the archives: had this one in Vilnius. Interesting breew with planty of yeast. For me it was rather traditional Lithuanian live beer.

330ml bottle (Maxima, Vilnius) (5:3:5-:3-:9=2.5--)
Slightly Slightly buttery light popcorny aroma, toffee too, butterscotch. Pale amber, small brief head, with a hint of haze (the ’gyvas’ presumably implying it’s not been microfiltered). Smooth palate, OK carbonation. Sweet caramelly malts. Very boring. Sticky sweet body. Inoffensive, but not good.

larsga (6323) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 26, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2013 Small white head. Clear yellow body. Buttery mealy banana aroma with herbal fruity notes. Dry-sweet strawy grainy dusty taste with fruity earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish earthy banana aftertaste with herbal mealy notes. Quite interesting, sweet and full-flavoured, yet easy to drink. (0.4l draft at Alynas, Vilnius first time, not so happy. 0.4l draft at Cozy, Vilnius, much better.)

Bottle from my wife’s Lithuania trip. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. The taste is crisp with some light bittering hops. Nice lager taste, better than most imports. There is a slight sweetness.
