voota (754), Melbourne, Australia Apr 25, 2006 Pours very light for such a high alcohol beer, the head is white with good retention. Sweet malty aroma, with some hop skunk in there too. The mouthfull is smooth, malty and flavoursome, very little hops to note. The finish is a little sour. Not bad, but not really what I had expected.
Jerre (1407), Waregem, Belgium Sep 25, 2008 Bottle 33 cl. RE-tasted home, yesterday. (bought @ hopduvel)
Hazy golden color, with creamy nice white head.
Aroma fruits: apricots and hops. Medium body. Taste sweet start, stone fruit apricot, with a bit of hopsbitterness spice and yeast finish. Good tripel a bit complex beer. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 20, 2008 Bottle from Dranken Geers. Hazy gold, very thin white. Oh, it’s like something, I can’t think of. Lots of tangerine crystallised fruit, but mixed with some puke as well. It’s like tangerine/mandarin jelly. Very harshly carbonated stings the tongue. Really quite yeasty as well. Having left it for around 40 mins, the carbonation dies down. The tripel character remains, the puke is still there. It’s got character so I respect that, but not a particularly drinkable beer. BoBoChamp (732), Gent, Belgium Aug 9, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew Marsiblursi (1432), Gö te la borrrrg, Sweden Jun 18, 2008 (Bottle) Pours yellow to light golden. The aroma is sweet malty with some floral tones but also notes of clove, violet and fruits like canned pears and sweet oranges. The flavour is malty, light citric, floral and subtle fruity. The mouthfeel is well carbonated, medium crisp yet quite soft. Medium bodied. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 12, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow wih a huge white head. Light spiced and caramel malt aroma, light yeasty too. Flavour holds distinctively more yeast with a slight rubber note. Dry and slight fruity too. Mild spiced and bitter finish. Nice and clean, but doesn’t have much depth :(
