Nice roasted malt and coffee aroma. Fully opaque, black body with a thick, fine bubble, Guiness-like head. Nutty, roasted malt flavor. Doesn't lose much to Guiness, if at all. Very solid and drinkable.

Impressive head--blurring effect turning into a clean line between head and body. Head retained throughout a long period of sipping. Dry. Less than attractive taste and difficult to get an aroma. Very creamy with a light body--nitrogenated.

Tap. Black color with a full brown head. The aroma is sweet and roasted. It has a creamy texture. The aftertaste has a hint of coffee.

I have to say, it was better than I expected for a random brewpub in St. Paul that was previously unrated. Flavor was about average, but the smoothness was exceptional.
