on tap at the brewery pours amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel and toffee. Flavor is a malt bomb, but it’s a nice one. Lots of caramel sweetness and big red soda flavors. A nice beer.

Draft at the Brewpub. Dark brown with a thin head. Malty and perhaps a bit chalky. Musty, dark chocolate finish. Good enough to get me hungry for the pizza. (#4042, 12/16/2010)

Very dark brown pour with no real head. Sweet aroma, with some chocolate notes. Astringent, with lots of tannens and alcohol flavors. Moderate carbonation with alcohol warming. Pretty bad compared to all their other beers.

This poured a dark chestnut body with a slender beige head. Nice aroma of lightly roasted malts, burnt caramel, and a touch of smoke. The flavor sweetens up a bit but is cut by an earthy/herbal bitterness. Pretty good.

Sampled on draft at Vinos. Pours dark chocolate brown in color. A mild, malty aroma and a rich, toasted malt with caramel and chocolate flavor. There’s a faint hint of apple or pear as well. Medium-full body with light carbonation. A well-made beer.

Draught. Pours brown, nutty caramel, with a small tan frothy head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate malt (roasted, smoke, nutty-huge), milky cocoa and cookies. Nutty malt, no acidity, low bitterness, low sweetness, woodsy flavor, chocolate malt milkshake, brown sugar and molasses. Medium bodied and smooth palate.

Deep, cloudy red. Sweet flavor of dark berries. Good overall, in my opinion.
