radagast83 (1046), Springfield, Virginia, USA Jun 23, 2008 Sampled at the Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest (2008). Pours a golden color. Aroma is bananas, with wheat. Flavor is a array of wheat, cloves, honey, and bananas. Not bad in the least, but a little more spice than I normally enjoy in a beverage. In small quantities I’d be quite happy with this beverage.
wilkie (1091), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Dec 20, 2007 (growler at argo0’s xmas party, thanks jasonp). Golden, slight haze, soapy white head. Aroma is faint banana, yeast. Flavor is fruity, yeasty, but a little flat. Alcohol in aftertaste. argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Dec 13, 2007 (growler, thanks jasonp) Medium white head atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is moderately sweet, bubblegum, banana, some candi sugar. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, some fruitiness, alcohol, light grassy. Medium-full body with minimal carbonation (despite being put into the growler on the day it was consumed). kmweaver (2010), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Dec 11, 2007 Growler, courtesy of jasonp. Thanks, Jason! Pours a hazy, whitish-yellow color; whitish head with patchy lacing. Better focus in the aroma than the Moylan’s White Christmas, showing coriander and orange peel. Chewy, dense Belgian core: plenty of sugars and coriander and some dried fruit; a bit messy and overly chewy, but generous and reasonable. Lengthy, Belgian sugar and coriander in the finish. BBB63 (3800), La Porte, Indiana, USA Dec 11, 2007 Growler at A&K Holiday tasting, thanks JasonP: Clear golden hue with a frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of sugar, grains, banana, honey, pepper, clove, grassy and herbal hops. The taste is nice and fruity with honey notes over a malty base. Spicy and herbal towards the alcoholic finish. The mouth feel is aggressive and biting, dry finish and warming. A nice brew and I liked it.
