Our version of pumpkin beer has classic German roots. We start with an excellent Oktoberfest recipe made with nutty, chewy Munich malt and a dash of hops, then we add 80 pounds of homemade pumpkin butter made from fresh, VA grown pumpkins. The result is a balanced and flavorful brew that is not liquid pie, but rather a tribute to the awesome, natural, seasonal produce that went into it.

Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours a hazy dark orange with a small white head. Fairly mute nose with just a little pumpkin and spice. Restrained use of the spices with this one. Bready with a nice roasted pumpkin flavor. Very clean for the style. Not overly spiced or too sweet. Nicely done.
