The humble cream ale has a history intertwined with American working-class. We gave ours a rural twist by brewing with oats, flaked male, and Wisconsin clover honey.Mildly sweet, light and refreshing, and with a touch of honey in the finish. The perfect way to toast a busy day.

Draught sample at the brewpub, October 13th. Clear amber, no head when poured but a bit of foam shows up when swirled and lasts...faint honey - toasted bread aroma, a bit of oats but also to my nose a touch of corn sugar...really nice honey-vanilla malty character in the body, eminently drinkable and while sweet never sugary, the malts are strong enough and the body just full enough, with a bit of dryness and toastiness at the finish...somewhat overcarbonated alas; thatís a flaw Iíve found in a few beers here though itís not a killer. Anyway on the whole a pretty decent example of this maligned style.

Meh. Granted, thatís how I feel about cream ales in general. Golden pour, a little bit of creamy head. Nose is mainly malt, and a hint of sweetness. Taste is malt, a touch of sweetness, probably honey. The palate is nice for a cream ale. The oats lends some creaminess and fullness of body to go along with a smooth finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has honey and sweet grain with straw and cookie underlying. Flavor is sweet with honey and grains with a thin finish.

Keg @ Vintage. Gold pour with a white head. Nose of honeyed cereal. Angel food cake. Fairly straightforward. Flavor is quite sweet. Light toasty malt keeps things in check. Light body, spritzy carb.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear golden color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of grainy malt and spiced fruit. Light body with flavors of herbal wheat, honey and malt. Slight corn in the background but not in a bad way. The finish is mildly spiced wheat and malt. Decent Cream Ale overall.

3oz on tap at the brewpub. Clear golden color. Thin ring of white head. Some loose bits of lace. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good full feel to it. Cream corn aroma, breadiness. Corn bread. Lightly peppery, some hints of citrus. Pretty solid cream ale.
