Tap at Vintage. A touch more mellow and restrained than previous Black IPAs at Vintage. Nails the style. Classic oily black malt. Steady beige head. Classic, well done.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Vintage Brewery. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a creamy tan head that sticks around forever. Aroma of pine, resinous hops, chocolate and mild citrus. Taste is nice with pine, citrus, chocolate, coffee and a bit of warming on the bitter finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Vintage 10/26, first of all, I didn’t even realize the play on words until I ordered this one, well done. Pours black with a light brown head and a little bit of lacing, the aroma has more sweetness than anything with some of the hops coming through, but more chocolate, the flavor was also sweeter than I was expecting without the hops really showing through, not terrible I guess.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewpub - Pours black with a thin tan head. Nose is sweet with sharp pine hops and dry ashy malt. Taste is dry, ashy, charcoal roast, very little hoppiness, with a little herbal note. Body is smooth and gently carbonated.
