Dark amber pour - really nice nose on this one, permeating the table (maybe Iím just extra thirsty). Served in a pretty big chalice glass. A bit disappointed, they have the Apple Brandy version listed on their menu but donít expect to tap it until the weekend - WTF? This may taint my rating. Lots of dark fruit in the aroma and the taste. Just a hint of booze in the finish. Nice spice character from the Belgian yeast as well. Nice.

Fruit and syrup aroma. Deep honey and wheat taste. Dark amber pour. This was poured from a keg at vintage brewing in Madison, WI.

Had it at on tap Vintage Brewery in Madison Wi. Poured a clear brown hue, with a light head. Heavy Belgian malt aroma and the ginge and anise really pop out with this beer.

Tap at Vintage. Amber-brown body, steady beige head. Warm fruit tinged Belgian yeast notes, raisin, toffee. Has a nice doughy, soft carbonation, overall mouthfeel is great. A pretty solid effort, true to style. Vanilla amber malt fruit tones, but really well balanced and grounded in the smooth, clean base malts. Well done, great Stateside Dubbel.

From notes. Draft at the brewpub. Fruity and roasty with a good dose of caramel. Not super complex but very drinkable.

Profiles more or less as a straightforward dubbel. There is a medicinal quality that appears toward the finish that detracts a bit from the overall experience, but still a good brew.

On tap at Vintage. Poured medium orange with a short off-white head. The aroma was sweet with dark fruits and raisins leading.. cloves and white peppery alcohol were quite strong.. some vanilla too.. maybe a bit disjointed, but interesting. The flavor found mostly sweet, darker fruits at the core, along with a little toffee.. ginger, cloves, white pepper, and banana essence around.. finished spicy and hot. Medium-plus bodied and too aggressive on the palate.. seems like they tried to do too much here.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with an off white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has notes of dark grain and raisin with a bit of anise and dark fruit. Flavor begins with sweet gains and dark frui with some alcohol and raisin in the finish.

On tap at brewpub. Pour is murky burnt amber with no head. Aroma shows toffee, dried stonefruit, and lots of belgian esters. Flavor shows dates, gingerbread, clove, raisin, and toast. Overall body is moderate, oily, and finishes with some warming alc.
