3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Sampler flight on tap at Vintage Brewery (Madison, WI). Pours a rich amber golden hue, darker elements offer a good hazy body with frothy offwhite head atop that dies to a ring and laces ok. Aromas are touches of biscuits, toast, bready malts. Gentle growing dry bitter hops, earthy and floral slanted. Some gentle doughy yeast. Initial is lighter bodied overall with a distinct lemon grass element up frontzn dry floral and earthy hops offer some bitterness, quickly moving into some mellow toasty and bready malts. Lighter overall, some toast, some mellow sweetness, fairly crisp and clean, lighter bodied overall. A bit dry and bitter, light bodied. Pretty much enjoyed as far as a Bitter should go, a touch of girth puts it in the ESB range, I guess.. Solid.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 deyholla (4787) - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA - APR 7, 2012
Sampled from the tap at the brew pub. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light grassy note with a hint of grapefruit and a grain backing. Flavor has a good amount of bread with a note of citrus and floral hops.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 triguy84 (235) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 5, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2012 Clear gold with thin head. Light sweet malt aroma, my nose is stuffy though. Moderate malt flavor with good hop flavor, resin . Medium body, moderate bitterness. I’m not a ESB fan, so discount my rating. This is drinkable though.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 drowland (4989) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - OCT 22, 2011
10/22/11. On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark golden pour with a small khaki head. Fruity, bready aroma with a touch of bitter hops. Bolder malt flavor with a big, grassy hop kick. Not too shabby.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dionysus (1443) - Arizona, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Thirsty Troll Brew Fest. Pour is amber with an off-white head. Aroma shows toffee covered biscuits as well as some nice floral hops. Flavor shows the same with an underlying grassy/herbal quality that’s not overbearing, but definately present. Overall body is light to moderate, crisp, and finishes with light bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BVery (4249) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2011
Tap at the brewpub. Clear orange pour with minimal white head. Nose of earthy/grassy hop. Smooth but lighter palate. Earthy hop flavor, grassy, some caramel. Very well balanced.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 nuplastikk (3276) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 20, 2011
Draft. Unfiltered orange. Thin, oily head. Mellow, malty non-aroma. This one is pretty sub-par, some buttery tones, with some fruity English yeast flavors as well. Drinkable, but fails to capture the essence of the style.
