3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at GTMW 2013
This was the only chance I had to try any of the Vintage releases but the rest all looked appealing too. With more time I could have really knocked out a few more ticks. This is a fine release from the cask tent that hopefully will make a revival in the future.
Aroma / Appearance - A brownish black base is fluid and light. Muddy chocolate, sweetness, and muted hops drive home a texture of dark fruits.
Flavor / Palate - Chocolate bars dropped in fresh mud sweeten the palate. The malt driven transition rushes into a pair of dark fruits. Nothing is exceptionally overpowering. All told it is a solid beer. I don’t know if I would want more than a sampler but I would give it a try again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Vintage Brewpub. Dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of blackberry, Ihop syrup, light chocolate, malt, caramel and a touch of nuts. Taste of blackberries, chocolate, hazelnuts, fruit and a mild tart and sweet finish. Interesting.
