Draught sample at the brewpub, August 18th. Murky copper (the murkiness aided and abetted by the very low lighting at the bar) with little head...nose is dry, herbal, just light floral, faintly hoppy, not much in the way of farmhouse character here...body is mostly sweet-tart cherry, a bit of raspberry, fruity and lightly syrupy at the front, dry and mineralic to finish. Thereís nothing remotely saison-like to this beer as far as I can discern, and this is not the first American "saison" that Iíve had in recent months that have failed completely to catch the qualities of their Belgian forbears, though some like HInterland have been pretty good in other respects. This isnít, and it made me wary of the rest of my samples, which fortunately were almost all much better.

Keg @ Vintage. Reddish pour with a small head. Aroma dominated by fairly fruity yeast. A bit of red berry. Earthy. Flavor is very fruity. Peach and berry preserves. Little else. Medium body, soft carb. Sugary.

On tap at the Dells Distillery. Reddish orange pour with little head. Floral hops, lightly done, with sweet malts. Taste is of florals, fruits and sweet malts. Sweet finish. Tasty enough for style. Light. 13.4

Pours a pink hue however itís very dark in this brewpub. Nose is spicy phenolic slightly astringent. Flavors exhibit the flowery spicy notes with some medicinal things going on. Long sweet tart flowery finish. Decent spiced saison.

On tap at the brewery, pours a hazy ruby red with some creamy, white head. Nose is floral with some distinct berry notes, fresh currants, a little cherry, herbal tea. Flavor has some fresh red berry, a light peppery note, some honey sweetness. Dry finish with just a prick on the tongue. Solid.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber red with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of hibiscus and light Belgian yeast with flora and grain backing. Flavor has a hibiscus and flora combination supported by Belgian yeast and light grain.

Pours a hazy light red almost pink color with pinkish head. Floral notes, spice, and funk on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a wheat note.

Tap at the brewery - lightly pink pour - fairly simplistic - ligtly tart, with the.adjunct fairly prominent - little to no character from the yeast, aside from a light spice - crisp, tart finish - eh.

Not a huge fan of saison style, but this was pretty good. Very fruity. Orange pour. Had this in Madison, WI at the Old Fasioned Tavern, poured from draft part of a flight.

Draft at the brewpub. Interesting dark, cherry red color. Drinks with a super sweet, the cherry fruit isnít quite the upfront character, but itís in there. The little herbal twist makes this more interesting and drinkable than many beers who flirt with this kinda thing. Quite drinkable. (#5129, 7/3/2013)
