4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 1FastSTi (3156) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Tap at Sugar Maple. Poured to a red hued body from the hibiscus used in it. The aroma was hibiscus and saison. That’s about all that could be said of the flavor too. HOWEVER, and I say with a strong however... this beer was absolutely fantastic. Extremely easy to drink. One would say this is a chuggable beer. This is a very sessionable beer, but also dangerous because the abv is 6.1%.

Excellent beer. Pours a slightly cloudy lovely pinkish color. Spicy, yeasty, saison aroma with a bit of hibiscus also noticeable. Tart from the hibiscus, but not sour. Crisp and smooth on the palate.

On tap at Vintage Brewpub as Hibiscus Saison. Translucent deep amber with a medium white head that sticks. Aroma is spicy, floral and herbal. Taste in line with aroma, very herbal with floral notes. No bitterness and a spicy herbal finish.

On tap at brewpub
The third sample in the flight was a fruity saison with a twist. Tropical beers are good for this time of year. Even if the temperatures were somewhat mild for August this hit the spot. I can’t wait to try the saisons in the cellar.
Aroma / Appearance - The warm mandarin body glowed. Earth and hibuscus share the spotlight like a floral bouquet pulled from a potting plant. There is a dry tartness that hits after a few seconds for more punch.
Flavor / Palate - Tart apple crisp, a floral middle, and sweet hay star in a sessionable beer that refreshed the palate. The only flaw is a medicinal aspect that pops up from time to time. Take that away and I could drink it all night.

On tap at the downtown Vintage bar. Pours an almost ruby red which I was not expecting. Floral notes on the nose and a clean crisp flavor. This is almost 7% and it drinks like it is 4.

Draft at Vintage brewpub. Pours a bit disconcertingly purplish-pink, faint pink head. Highly carbonated. Nose is lemon, yeast, wildflowers. Sharp carbonation, hibiscus, fresh berries and a slight lemon hint. Quick, dry finish. Interesting, and almost entirely successful.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nuplastikk (3289) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 7, 2012
Draft at Vintage. Artificial but I suppose real looking reddish-pink color. Thin off-white head. Interesting fruity aroma, maybe some dulled cherry. Well, this is different. Some bitterness up front, with a dull fruit dominated body. The up front bite is quite odd, not unlike a wine cooler. Weird, maybe some lactic tones underneath. Not unlike the Sprecher Lambic..thats a bad thing. Disappointing.

(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of herbs, grass, yeast, and florals. Flavor of herbs, florals, earth, light citrus, and yeast with a dry, bitter finish.
