On tap at the downtown Vintage bar. Pours an almost ruby red which I was not expecting. Floral notes on the nose and a clean crisp flavor. This is almost 7% and it drinks like it is 4.

Draft at Vintage brewpub. Pours a bit disconcertingly purplish-pink, faint pink head. Highly carbonated. Nose is lemon, yeast, wildflowers. Sharp carbonation, hibiscus, fresh berries and a slight lemon hint. Quick, dry finish. Interesting, and almost entirely successful.

Draft at Vintage. Artificial but I suppose real looking reddish-pink color. Thin off-white head. Interesting fruity aroma, maybe some dulled cherry. Well, this is different. Some bitterness up front, with a dull fruit dominated body. The up front bite is quite odd, not unlike a wine cooler. Weird, maybe some lactic tones underneath. Not unlike the Sprecher Lambic..thats a bad thing. Disappointing.

(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of herbs, grass, yeast, and florals. Flavor of herbs, florals, earth, light citrus, and yeast with a dry, bitter finish.

Draft on tap the brewpub (Madison, WI). Pours a reddish pink hue, glowing with a touch of haze, bigger frothy offwhite head stays as a good film, laces well. Aromas are mellow tart Hibiscus, florals, bread, and mellow sweet malts. Initial is medium bodied, cool and inviting with gentle florals, touches of tart Hibiscus, some bread dough, more tartness, a touch of lemon, faint spice. Really inviting and easy going. Into the backend, more florals and dry bread, touches of spice, a touch of hops. A bit of a one trick pony, some decent life.. But then falls off. Ok.

Received sneak preview of the Hibiscus Saison two days before release, cask drawn at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear dark copper colored brew with a creamy off-white head that leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma screams "farmhouse saison" period. Additional aroma of elderberries, toasted dark malt, a touch of apple and hibiscus petals. Taste is very floral and fruity with less medicinal character compared to aroma. Finish has a quick smooth aftertaste with some elderberry, saison yeast, and then a crisp finish. Most excellent.

On tap at brewpub, this is actually one of the bartender’s own recipe and they ended up brewing a full batch, pretty cool! Pours a light red with a pink head and lacing in the glass, the aroma has a nice fruity touch with some sourness and funk on the nose, the flavor has a strong fruity front with a sour tartness and a dry finish, pretty darn enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours ruby red with a fine-bubbled white head. Smells soapy and perfumey (I’m assuming from the hibiscus). Floral, with light, dusty yeast. Tastes lightly sour to begin, then cherries come in. Lightly sweet, with malt taking over in the finish--bready, with some nice dusty/earthy yeast. Light perfume and floral layers in the finish. Has a nice balance between dry/sweet/floral--does a nice job of not tasting like a bottle of perfume.
