Tap. Light yellow/orange pour with white head. Smells of citrus and slight juniper. Tastes of the same. Very easy drinking and refreshing. By far the best juniper beer i’ve had.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 drowland (4975) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - AUG 10, 2012
8/10/12. On tap at the brewpub. Hazy amber pour with a small khaki head. Super spiced aroma with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sweet caramel. Cinnamon and nutmeg in the flavor as well with sweet potato. Surprisingly good considering I usually don’t like this type if beer.

On tap at Vintage Brewing. Hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of spices, malt, mild rye and herbal hops. Taste of moderate rye, herbal notes, fruit, orange, banana, caramel and some mild dark fruit. Decent but strange.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (6664) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 15, 2012
On tap at Vintage. Poured cloudy amber with nothing going on for head. The aroma picked up warm, sweet caramel and molasses, surrounded by wintery spices and juniper.. warm and welcoming. The flavor found aged caramel, molasses, and dark fruit at the core (more fruit as it warmed up).. tangy juniper branches and peppery alcohol cut through well.. finished tart with lots of sugars and warming alcohol. Heavier-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. decent balance, but a few too much residual sugarage.. OK overall.

Cloudy brown, no head, little bubbles hang at glass edge. Up front spruce aroma, hint of sweet malt & slice. Good spruce flavor, moderately sweet. Medium body, lightly spicy. Very tasty beer.

Tap. Pours to a deep brassy body with a very thin khaki head. The head dissipated rather quickly but was lively while it was there. Flavors are quite tangy. Some bananas and spice with juniper berries. Very tangy. Subtle cinnamon. Earthy but more velvety and crisp than murky. Lots of bananas. Almost like a Belgian ale with subtle juniper. Sweet full body that has a nice lingering texture. Oddly like a spicy winter warmer. Aroma is juniper spiced bananas foster.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 madvike (2066) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2011
On tap at Vintage - Reddish amber pour with no head. Spicy on the nose, with mint, menthol, and a kind of apple-lemon note. Wow...much better than I had anticipated. Taste is sweet malt with a real pungent juniper note, dusty yeast, and a bit of dark fruit. Smooth, pretty resinous, and lightly carbonated. Really nice stuff.

On tap. Deep amber in color. Super-spicy nose - allspice, potpourri, floral hops, fruity esters. Flavor is fruitcake, peppermint with a warmth to the finish. Not my thing, but good.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Skyview (5023) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - DEC 23, 2010
On draught at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy orange amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of farmhouse saison character with yeast, banana esters golden grain malt, earthy spices and even a touch of peppermint. Taste has a character of weizen bock with a touch of spices of cloves, banana esters and orange zest. Finish is semi-sweet, mild bitterness with aftertastes of banana esters, orange zest and some vanilla. Most excellent winter spice beer.
