4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
At the brewery before the penn state Wisconsin game. Go Penn State. Pours an non translucent black with a thick darn head that leaves a ring. Smell is chocolately with roasted malt and oatmeal. The taste is heavy on the oatmeal that gives why to a dark chocolate finish with some coffee. Very nice beer best one I’ve had here. Well done.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black with a tan, dissipating head. Aroma of roast and dark rich chocolate malts. With a bits of coffee, caramel, and oats. Flavor if fairly bitter from the roast with notes of oatmeal and other dark malt sweetness. Nice, soft pillowy texture with average carbonation. Finishes fairly dry and roasty.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2014 Delicious stout with a nice hop presence. I get a lot of coffee both in the aroma and upon drinking the beer. A sweet chocolate flavor lingers with the hops on the finish. When I’m not exploring the constantly changing menu at Vintage, I always fall back to this brew.
