COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
RedStreak is a proper English style draft cider. With its hazy lemon hue, scent of ripe apples and just a touch of oak, RedStreak has a crisp, tart finish that pairs perfectly with your favorite mature cheddar. First discovered in Herefordshire in the 1630s, the Redstreak bittersharp apple produced a cider so delicious it was deemed to be ‘fit for kings.’ Whether paired or on its own, RedStreak Cider is your next drink.

Draft at State&Lake at the Wit Hotel, downtown. I finally got to bite into a Virtue Cider. And on a hotel bar tap, too. Color is lighter than the lightest beer out there, with a short, fizzy head that’s gone as soon as you blink. Smell is kind of pale, with just a slight tang of apple juice. I found the taste to be rather light, with tart apple in the back of my throat, just a touch of sweetness. It resists your attempts to swig it down, inviting introspection instead. Seems very fully attenuated, although the abv is no more than most beers.

Aroma: Slightly tart apple skin; moderate fruity sweetness; a little oak. Appearance: Light yellow, nearly still pour with no head. Flavor: Oak and moderate sweetness up front; tartness comes through a little more especially toward the finish. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, lingering finish. Overall: Thought this was pretty ordinary.

Pour on tap, clear golden pour with thin no head, aroma brought notes of big green apple, apple skins, some lemon, touch of yeasty notes with a slight oak. Taste was a mix of oak, lemon, some slight vanilla into tart apple skins, apple flesh, finishing slightly tart, slightly dry.

[2/21/15] Draught at Toronado in San Diego. Clear yellow-ish gold. Nice aroma full of juicy apples, a funky hint and a sulphury note. Sourish-bitterish flavor with a sweetish note, rather dry, with apples and an alcoholic hint. Nice.

A sweet but dry cider. Has a bit of a sour taste that stays on the tongue. Not a bad option.

Draft: Very pale straw yellow colour. Spicy apple scent. Apple, honey, spice flavours. Not bad....but a little dull...not as lively as it could be.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy mostly sweet and lightly tart apple. It’s a transparent dull yellow with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with a very quick dose of sweet apple. The finish trunk heavily tart with some lemon and sour oak. It’s light bodied with light carbonation.

>> Flat light golden near straw, little to no foam. Nose is green apple Jolly Rancher. Chemical, weak taste: sour green apple, English or American cider in style, cheap sparkling white wine. Mild paper finish. Hmm, pretty meh.

On tap @ Bagby Beer. Clear gold with a shirt lived white head. A lot of apple skin and smoked, baked apple. Slight citrus zest. Sort of a champagne and yeast note. Flavor is kind of heavy on the mineral and apple skin. Light tart and citric note. Cooked apple. Sort of sweet.
