Strong alc but light on flavours. Very typical beer from estonia. Not my cup of tea.

I believe that this beer is retired. I have not seen Bock from the series in a long long time. I remember it as a powerful, malty, thick bodied lager with added alcohol. I enjoyed every single bottle that I had.

Love the style, freaking hate this beer. The aroma is indeed a "stench," as earlier described--dog food, is the honest best I can come up with. Afterward itís metallic rust hops and the sort of non-nutty watery strong sweetness one would expect in a crappy Baltic Porter. Sigh, Viru, why do you disappoint me so? *note: bought in Nov 2013 with a b/b date of Oct 2013, so this may (may!) in part explain the low rating.

Bottle (7%, thanks SADESA & CueSheet). Goldeny amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, alcohol and some rubber. Flavour is rather similar with a strong alcoholic sting to it.

Bottle. Clear light amber color with no head. Grassy aroma of caramel. Muddy taste of cardboard.

TBone (13359) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 7, 2012
Bottled 500ml (Drink Shop, BB?)
Hazy amber color, vanishing off-white head. Aroma of booze and apple.Medium bodied but watery palate. Sharp apricot marmalade flavor, also a bit tart. Fruity finish. Not much to do with bock.

Marduk (3318) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 9, 2012
0,5l bottle. Dark yellow, amber color. Very thin head. Iron, watery aroma, weird stench, canít really describe it. Somewhat sweetish body. Boiled carrots, turnips. Aftertaste is unpleasant dry bitter. Disgusting.

500ml bottle (?, Tallinn) - shared by Marduk - thanks!
Deep orange, brief. Ew, sickly alcoholic aroma. I get red fruity jam. Anna gets vegetal. Almost a bit sicky too. Watery. Fizzy palate. Tons of iron, and minerals. In the finish, itís pure iron, and very messed up. Burnt brassica, ugh. Plonked itself well into the realms of nasty. Did not like. Offered to the sink, which didnít complain.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20
estpiwo (1310) - ESTONIA - MAY 8, 2012
Bottle. Dark amber color, small head. Aroma of orange peel and some sweets. Not openly alcoholic like some Estonian bocks. Caramel malts, oily tones. Light bitter aftertaste.

suurjuust (1483) - ESTONIA - MAY 6, 2012
Ambery orange, tan head that quickly disappears. Nose has unpleasant metal notes with some grainy malts and caramel. As it warms up, the metallic hints weaken, but are still there. Taste begins very watery with some more metallic notes. Finish has some flavor to it - malts and caramel again, some hops. Bitterness in the aftertaste. Prickly carbonation, oily mouthfeel. I was hoping for a decent Estonian bock, but I guess Iíll have to wait some more.
