Not your standard APA and definitely not your standard Vienna, and leaning somewhat more towards old English IPA. Itís rather confusing at first, because you get the color of a Vienna/Classic, but the aroma of some good American hops (Cascade) and the taste of a sweeter IPA. Letís just for the record, be clear that this is in NO WAY an Amber Lager as described here at Ratebeer. Itís a deviant of the Pale Ale family.. Whether itís an IPA or APA, Iíll let you decide for yourselves.. Amber color, well lasting off-white head and a brilliant smell of dough and yeast and elder and hop fields.. From the smell youíd expect something way more flowery and hoppy than what you actually get. The sweetness is overwhelming because of it, and it may turn you off if you expected a real American Pale Ale with all itís freshness and crispyness to follow. GB FinAle getís too heavy too soon.. To sweet and fills you up like a Double Double with the works, and youíd rather go home and sleep than carry on drinking. A good brew, but in the world of fusion and confusion, it ultimately lacks charm and sparkle, and it does feel stronger than it is (6.5%)

Moebbels (269) - FINLAND - MAR 16, 2014
A dark amberclear body with a minimal head. Nose is mild with some caramelly malty notes. Taste is quite sweet with a strange herbal minty note to it, the finish is mildy dry. Carbonation is soft and the palate is fairly rich but not annoyingly thick. The taste is quite unusual, a little like underberg or something and the nose is way too mild.

Zarkam (369) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 8, 2014
500ml bottle from Tallinn. Dark amber colour, medium frothy off-white mostly lasting head, fair lacing. Heavily malty aroma of nuts, caramel and cassis with moderate resiny hops. Taste is initially moderately sweet with a hint of bitterness turning into a bittersweet finish with a slightly acetic feel. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Very pleasant aroma, taste was a bit unbalanced towards sweetness, certainly not a vienna lager, more like some kind of a cross between English and Belgian ale.

Finwe (412) - Grankulla, FINLAND - JUN 2, 2013
500 ml bottle from Estonia. Pours dark reddish amber with a beige head. Aroma of sweetish caramel. Caramel and sweet bread in the flavour with a slight hoppy bitterness. Slightly unpleasant finish. Not to be confused with the original Danish beer, compared to which this a flop.

Bottled (thanks SADESA & CueSheet). Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is alcohol, some spruce, fruits and some wooden notes. Flavour is quite similar. Thin and a bit alcoholic though.
