2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Ehh. Perfectly drinkable and even nice, after a fashion, but far too thin and watery. Tastes (and especially looks) like flat Coke with some sprite or lemon mixed in, as well as a *touch* of malt. Definitely would have expected better--from a brewer in another country :) (vabandust, eesti!)

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours dark, beige medium top. In aroma there is only roasted malt (at least for me). Tastes sweet and resembles local root beers. Palate is nice, low (almost nonexisting) carbonation. So if you want not carbonated, sweet and non-ambitious beer then this is right for you.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours mahogany brown, white bubbly head. Fresh watery aroma, a bit of usual dish washing liquid smell. Taste is slightly bitter, malty and even with some roast notes in the aftertaste. Aftertaste itself is weak and short. Overall drinkable but quite boring for a Christmas beer.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
50cl bottle. Freshly brewed Jõulusokk. Faint caramel, dark malt nose. Slightly pungent yeast on top. Pours clear black with a thick creamy head, that goes in 20 seconds to 0, with thin lacing.
Rather sour, with plenty of yeast as if it is some kind of dunkel-lambic beer. Sour at first, acidic afterwards. Thin bodied, oily beer, and thus I wont call it bock. 6% abv is also not really "bockish".
Overall, this is so far the weakest competitor for top Estonian x-mas beer of 2013 (or any other year previously, if that matters). Not a bad beer, but not to my taste either. Was better last year.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
0.5L bottle. Malt, bread aroma. Watery beginning. Dry, high malt, Halljala brewey style original malt and hop game. Maybe some cinnamon and old home made apple juice. Watery end.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
50cl bottle from Stockmann Tallinn. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a rather small, beige head. Moderate malty aroma with dried fruits, some lightly spicy and roasty notes and hints of caramel and metal. Medium sweet and malty with a lightly bitter finish. Not as sweet as expected and quite well balanced actually. A bit watery and mild in flavour, but quite drinkable. This one was from last year so maybe a year in my closet has done some good to the beer.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
50 cl bottle @ olio, BBE 06.08.2011. Rated on 04.04.2011
Aroma is rather unpleasant and stale with roasted malt, glue and hints of coffee. Flavour is decent with some roasted malt and hints of solvent. I guess this is what a Christmas sock tastes like…

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Solaris, Tallinn. Ruby with a falling beige head. Black cherry aroma with hints of rye bread and liquorice. Simplistic malty taste; malt loaf, cherry and liquorice with faint undercurrents of Bovril and Baltic saltiness. Easy to drink, without any glaring faults. Unconvincing.
