Pours a clear pale yellow. Comes in a cool bottle which I'll use for my homebrew. At least something tasty will one day be in the bottle. There is a nice floral hop aroma but other than that there is not much going on. Did I mention it Coles is a cool bottle?

Needless to say, the best thing about this is the bottle. But it’s not the worst mass-produced continental lager. There are actually some flavours hidden in there - corn, biscuit.

Chiara con schiuma evanescente.
Senza infamia e senza lode.
Piuttosto maltata, poco luppolo.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I am just about to give up drinking in order to save money during college. This depresses me, so I had to seek out something beautiful; a case of Westmalle Dubbel and Trippel. Oh, and this four back of funky bottled lager. This should be fun, because apparently this beer has been sitting on the shelf since April 2011. Hey, my Belgians can handle that without a sweat, why not this? Pours a urine-yellow, like most all lager, barely any head, though that was expected. Not getting much aroma out of this, so now I am worried I am about to take a swallow of retched rotten beer... Actually, I will have to give Viru credit; two and a half years past its expiration date, and it is not bad at all. I’d drink this dated stuff long before I’d try your average North American adjunct megaswill. Mellow taste, straw, slight malty sweetness, hint of hops and ending without any of the wretched chemical aftertaste the megaswills are so fond of offering. Pretty bottle, too.

33 cl bottle in it’s peculiar shape. Bright light yellow color, lear, small white head. Faint notes of corn, fruits, banana on the nose. Grainy, sweet malts, some grassy hops. Not very palatable, undefined finish. Carbonated, oily texture, light body. Average lager.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
10floz/300ml bottle into a mug. Served cold.
Aroma: Actually it’s quite malty! Sweet-ish malt.
Appearance: Slightly hazy, somewhat dark yellow body with a dissipating, fizzy white head.
Taste: Sweet malt. Really strange. Different. It’s sweet.
Palate: Light body, abrupt malty finish.
Overall: Definitely interesting. Worth a try. Can’t decide how I feel about this one.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle during a night out in Manchester. The unusualness of the bottle is the only real thing of note. It’s a very average international pale lager, cooling on a hot Manchester night, pale gold colour, medium white head, grassy...

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Very light pale body with almost no foam. Aroma is weak, background sugar. Taste is malty, too sweet, almost no bitterness, high oxidation, unbalanced. Body is light, medium carbonation.
