Originally sold by Tartu as A. Le Coq Premium Extra. The beer was bought by Brand Independence Ltd in 2006 and renamed Viru. It is contract brewed by Tartu for Brand Independence Ltd.
Ingredients: Water (from one of Europe’s deepest wells); Malted Barley (Lithuanian); Sugar; Saaz Hops; Yeast.
‘Viru’ (pronounced ‘veer-roo’) is becoming a well known Baltic states’ beer export. Brewed in the university town of Tartu, Viru is packaged in a octahedral bottle designed over 100 years ago, and thought to be based on the churches and towers of old Tallinn, capital of Estonia.

0.300 ml pour from refrigerated bottle into a white wine glass (only glass I had around). Moderate pour produced a muted white head with quick dissipation. Clear, yellow, light carbonation. Light body. Fairly unremarkable taste. Not too much anything. Pretty clean, though a little bit of a soapy aftertaste.

Pajiza muy clara de escasa espuma y menor cuerpo. Aroma plano, ligeramente malteado. En boca igualmente plana, y encima algo metálica. Sólo se salva la botella, realmente original. Lástima que no se beba. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale golden colour with a small white head. Weak malty aroma and a thin malty grainy taste. Light body and a thin finish.

Straw color with a diminished off-white head leaving a thin lid. Sweet grains and hints of grassy hops. I catch some thermosetting plastic as well. Light grain and malt in the start. Actually a rather smooth and soft palate. Hints of floral hops. Not a bad brew, a bit grainy at times but quite drinkable. 2/10

330ml bottle. 04-05-2015.
In short: poor maintream lager.
In long: a boring industrial lager, with annoying metalic taste and skunky nose.
