Small, yellowish head, leaving some lace, over dark opaque brown beer; Chocolate, nose with some wood and browned, dried leaves, yeast. Bready, yeasty, leafy, dried fruit, woody finish and lots of malt. Well-bodied, with a small sourish CO˛ linging, lending quite good balance. Very nice beer, with somehow a German streak, despite the top-fermenting process. MANY THANKS TO BOTH MARC AND STEVEN!

750ml bottle (Alvinne Beershop)
7- Bold mashy aroma, with a touch of yeast in the glass it’s breadier, and even had some rye notes.
4 Rich slightly hazy brown. Small beige head, continues to bubble gently to make sure it never disappears.
7 Lovely rich malty body, touch of liquorice root, more so in the one with a little yeast in. Rye breadiness through and through.
4 Full palate, crisp carbonation. Finish earthier in the yeastier glass, but liquoricy in both. Touch of tobacco too later.
14 Lovely balance, nice to see a brune that’s not too sweet.
