33cl Bottle from ABS Drinks Winksele. Slightly hazy copper colour, white head. Aroma is full malty, light hoppy, dry, light floral, light fruity. Flavour is malty, dry, light floral, yeast, hint of citrus, light fruity, nice malty and hoppy bitter finish, dry. Light-bodied but with a decent mouthfeel. Nice and subtle beer, I’d like to have this as a substitute for pils in bars in most cases.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
New Viven beer with dense, frothy, snow white head and orangey amber colour, lightly hazy; pleasant aroma of ripe peaches and pineapples, apple, orange peel, biscuit, pink grapefruit, walnuts, honey and quite a lot of iron. Fruity onset, sweetish with smooth, honeyish and caramelly malt sweet background, slick and highly drinkable; finish has agreeable, citrussy and grassy hop bitterishness. Enjoyable thirst quencher, which reminded me more of an English bitter than a Belgian pale ale (or ’spéciale belge’), in its hop bitterness, lightness and smoothness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
large rocky frothy offwhite head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick dark orange body. aroma: orange, butter, honey, orange jam, metal. if: moderate sweet. ff: light sweet moderate bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Delicioso dulçor de laranja. Leve amargor, lembrando a casca desta fruta, não chega a incomodar no final. Deliciosa cerveja, surpreendente. Excelente drinkability. 160 s

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg.
Hazy light orange with a white head. Sweet aroma with a hint of hops.
Taste is moderately bitter. Body is a bit thin but decent. Nice little ale, not too fancy but more exciting than a standard pilsener or speciale Belge.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours copper with a decent white head. Felt very odd drinking an English-inspired Belgian ale, rather than the other way round. Blends some dry earthy Goldings hops with a soft English ale bitterness, but just finishes a bit dull and boring for me.

Bottle@home. Haze amber. Small head. Slight yeasty almond notes. Dry bitter. Clean crisp for an ale. Not bad at all. Great with cheese chips ;).
