3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange amber with a small off-white head. Lots of nice pine notes on the nose with citrus and an underlying caramel malt. In the mouth there are similar flavours, with more grapefruit, with a good balance between sweet flavours and a decent bitterness. Not very harsh for a IIPA but that’s no bad thing. Heavy-ish palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber body with soapy/foamy off white head and some lacing. Malty aroma, sweet dried fruit. Taste is also on the malty side. Definitely has the typical balance of a double IPA, not super bitter, as you’d expect from Belgian. Still very tasty if not as bitter as some IPAs, though this bottle might not be super fresh. Abv well masked. Nice double ipa.

Drank with Bram @ Piet Huisman 11-10-2014. Alcohol is present, nice. Beer has good thickness and a fine taste, only a bit too bitter (one-sided).

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle. White head that almost goes away. Smells fruity, gentle american hops. Taste is bitter, mild caramel and quite gentle for an imperial IPA. All in all, quite good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared bottle with Mad Dog Helsdon at the Only Cafe during the Toronto Rate Beer Sobriety Memorial night. Pours dark & sharp. A chewy bubblegum style IPA. More perfume on the hops than Cougar Nite at the local singles bar. Pretty sure this was the final nail in the following day’s hangover.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drank at the East Meets West and Drinks Too Much event at the Only. Split a bottle with the vociferous and astute Mr. Freaky_tiki. I usually just ogle the amazing bottle beer selection at the Only while drinking too many of what’s on tap.
Pours a cloudy red-orange (keeping the questionable bar lighting in mind.) Offers a creamy malt nose with a resin hoppiness. The taste has some nice caramel flavors but is dominated by a resin and perfume hops, with some bittering that carries though to the aftertaste. No too bad.
