4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at yard house. Hazy murky orange rust color with thick foamy white head. Funky yeast nose. Sugar, yeast, funky full chewy flavor. A bit of a weird bitter sour combo, but an interesting Belgian approach to an imperial ipa.

Typisch Amerikaans bier. Wrang, slap en bitter. Het moet je smaak zijn, maar voor zoveel bitterheid heeft hij weinig evolutie.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Willems. It’s an amber beer with a huge thick off white head. Fruity, soapy, floral and light herbal aroma. Good bitterness and sweetness in the flavor. Peaches and passion fruit with a great malty backbone.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Yardhouse.
Clear, orange amber body with a very good head and good lacing.
Aroma is hoppy and fruity with citrus, other but fainter tropical fruits, and caramel.
The flavor is also fruity but not hoppy by American IPA standards. Drinks like an AmericanPale Ale that’s loaded with caramel malt and made with some Belgian yeast. Not a bad thing.blends
Feel medium plus body with medium ight carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of heavy caramel malt. Hazy dark amber color, beige head cover, dots and spots of lace. Taste is strong caramel malt with dark fruit overtones that moves to a finish with enough hops to balance. Mostly this is a thick heavy brew, alcohol up front, lays hard in the stomach. It’s acceptable, but not search-worthy.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy deep amber beer. Thick frothy off white head. The head gives a hit of fresh lime hops. Palate is light, soft and dry and the head makes it airy. Light soft caramel malt is a base for hops that impart lime, pine with grapefruit and orange in the background. Finishes light and frothy and with more fresh hop. A delightful DIPA.

Bottled 330ml. -courtey of and shared with Domagoj from Pivoteka. Dark golden/amber coloured, medium to big sized off-white head, alcohol and malt in the nose. Sweet malty, light caramel, fruity hoppy, alcohol and touch of spices with rather short sweetish finish. Poor DIPA.

This is a fantastic IPA. What impresses me most is the very long period the IPA from Viven fills your mouth. It is a beer to enjoy. and I look forward to sit next to the canals in Brugge and enjoy my Viven IPA in August.
