Bottle 330ml from King&Godfree. Great cigar-porter. Aromas of smoke, roasted caramel, coffee, milk chocolate, and liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, long lasting. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy head.

Flat, thin, smoky meaty aroma. Flavor is it very thin and watery. Like a cheap white wine.

Sampled 33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // dark brown, blackish with a small tanned head // smells is heavy of soy sauce, gravy, dark roasted malts & chocolate, ok that is pretty damn weird // taste is bitter roasted malts, soy sauce, gravy, smoked malts, liquorish, touch burned, spices, milk chocolate & bitter finish // body is oily malts & gravy like // messed-up, is this supposed to be like this? // can sort of get into it but a full glass, quetionable

Extremely dark/black color with a tan head. Did not see any highlight in it. Smells roasted malt, coffee (expresso), cocoa, chocolate and hints of licorice. Tastes (my god) unexpectedly well balanced. Toasted malts, coffee, licorice again, smoke. Dry but very refreshing finishing. Some smoke has a fizzy carbonation that annoys me, but NOT this one. I am really satisfied because I expected nothing of this beer (I had the blonde of the same brewing and didn’t get enthusiastic). I have to say that is a very well done belgian porter. Have a milk chocolate or belgian cookies with this brew. Superb!

Bottle from Bruery Provisions. Pours very dark with ruby tints and a good head. There is strong, meaty smoke in the aroma with notes of nutshells, espresso, dark chocolate and earth. The palate is pretty heavy which complements the hearty smoke. Milky notes add a little smoothness to the flavor profile of nuts, ashes soil and a campfire-like finish. I really enjoyed this one.

330ml bottle. Pours an extremely dark brown with a large head. Aroma is fruity, dry roast malt with a little smoke. Taste is watery dry roast to start with a roasty, smoky finish. Some dark fruits, also.

Bottle at Bier Circus. Pours almost black with an attractive clinging tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a smoky chocolate and dark molasses flavor that leaves chalk on the palate. Very nice.

Bottle at Brugs Beertje. Almost black with a tan head. Good sweetish espresso nose. Sweet molasses with roasted notes. Chocolate. Can’t complain.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu
Aroma is a bit floury with peat, some smoke and licorice. Flavour is ashy and dry with some peat and licorice. Not your typical porter, too much ash and peat for me here.

Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma light burnt malts, dry ash. Some peat. Dry palate. Medium bodied. Not bad.
