330ml bottle smoked porter. Pours a thick frothy brownish head and has a pitch black appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas of dark roasted malts, quite smokey, coffee and earthy hops. Flavours are also quite smokey, with more roasted malt notes, some coffee and hints of dried fruit (raisins, plums). A little bit of sweetness as well. Good retention. Smooth, silky and creamy mouthfeel.

Nice black beer with long lasting big brown head. Smells a bit smoky, malty. Flavour is good, roasted malts, yeasty breadiness, enough hop character to balance out the malts and leaves a pretty crisp finish. Exactly what I want in a porter.

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Dark brown-black with a tan cola-like head. Aroma and flavor of roasted malt, black coffee, charred wood and smoke. Medium bitterness. Nice.

Aroma: like a campfire with underlying sweetness; Appearance: completely black with tan head that dissipates fairly quickly; some lacing; Taste: not too smoky; decent porter but a little watery; Palate: heavy body with long finish that isn’t entirely pleasant; Overall: not as bad as I was anticipating but probably wouldn’t get again.

Pours deep dark black with small tan head that quickly dissipates in my tulip glass. Lots of roasty and smoky bacon-type aroma, a little coffee, caramel. The smokiness and roastiness are also prominent in the flavour, along with caramel, charred meat, cocoa, earthy hops. Light to medium bodied. Pretty good.

Couleur noire avec une belle dentelle beige foncé. Senteur de malt rotie, noisette. En bouche, doux et délicat chocolat noir!

Bottled. Dark body, thick beige head. Overall like an imperial stout. The aroma is very smoky, the flavor smoky bacon. Nice!

330 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a modest mocha head. Aroma: Phenolic/peaty smoke, fairly strong, inky dark chocolate, sort of a peppery/dank hop character, a little black coffee, changes to a bit more of a wood/meat smoke as it warms. Palate: Medium-full body, relaxed carbonation, a little powdery. Flav.: Quite a bit of smoke (peat and wood) with a slightly tangy dark malt backbone, a little caramel and molasses peak through, not as much chocolate as the nose, virtually no coffee with the same dank/peppery hop character; lightly sweet with fair bitterness and a lightly smoky and fruity finish with some dark maltiness.

Interesting enough. Not something I’d need to drink much of.
