2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep, chalk brown color. Thin purplish brown head. Very smoky aroma. Very coastal, smoky flavor, read salty. The smoked, roasted malt is very prominent. Cool, smoky, heavy, confusing.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cl bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pours dark brown with a very small fizzy brown head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. A bit fizzy taste that turns to notes of chocolate. Strange. Aftertaste is coffee. Sticky mouthfeel, thin body, light bitterness, quite sour.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

> Suprisingly solid smoked porter that could use some body
[ Bottle ][ Max’s BBF ][ 330mL ][ Mini Imperial Pint ][ Free ][ 2/15/14 ]
>> Thanks Travlr for the share. Excellent smoked, savory meat nose- spot on for smoked porter- flashes of lemon air freshener. Excellent rocky tan coffee foam with great lacing. Taste is dry, cocoa powder, lightly ashy and bitter. Taste is weaker, lemon, still pretty smokey. Chalky mouthfeel, thin, ashy. Coincidentally my sister was drinking this on the same day all the way in Maastricht, NL.
<!> thinner body, ashy, mild lemon

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Drinking date: 12 February 2014) Pitchblack colour, no light shines through. It had a small layer of thin beige foam but it disappeared quickly. Aromas of a bit of hops, and also of smoke and bacon. It smells like the Big tasty of McDonald’s haha. The taste is also smoked bacon, also like the Big tasty... I’m not sure if I like it or not. It’s a bit strange to recognize the taste of a hamburger in this beer haha. Besides that, you also taste the bitterness of the burned/roasted malt. I think there is a little bit too much heavy carbonation. I don’t know what I must think of this beer. On one hand I quite like the taste, but on the other side I don’t like the bacon aroma and taste that this beer has. I like the bitterness of the burned malt. The bitterness is not overwhelming, it is exactly right. I think I will finish this beer now, because it’s not that bad that I want to throw it away, but I won’t buy this one again. That’s why it gets the total score of 3.2. (Edit: I didn’t finish this beer. The more I was sipping on it, the more I didn’t like it. I figured out that I don’t like smoked beer unfortunately)

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 0.75l. Pours almost black with small beige head. Aroma has coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, slightly sour. Taste light to medium sweetness and bitterness, smokey, roasted, chocolate. Aftertaste has some bitterness and booze, slightly sour on the palate. Very good and complex porter with the right balance of sweetness and smoke.
