3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. It pours a dark brown body, unclear, and topped by a creamy, minimal sized light beige head. Rather smoked aroma, ham and some old bonfire. Some cocoa and forest. Creamy, soft mouthfeel and semi-dry. Some alcohol warmth too. Ham, bonfire hints and cocoa in the flavor, nice bitterness too. Lasting roasted and bitter finish. Some yeasty hints. Certainly not a beer I’d expect from Belgium, but it’s pleasant indeed. 130516

Bottle 0,33ltr: Opaque black coloured brew with an great dry bitter taste and great hints of smoked, chocolate and coffee. Like the famous fluid smokey ham-meat beer from Alaskan brewery, very nice one.

This is a seriously good beer. This is by far the best porter i have ever had. It is mellow yet has really deep and complex flavours.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A very interesting porter, very refinated and aromatic, even the coffee flavours are more sweet than others porters, and have hints of smoke as the german rauchbiers. And the best is that is way drinkable than most of porters.

Great beer, one of my favourites at the moment. Rich taste of chocolote, bread, subtle smoke en bitter coffee, interesting aftertaste. A little masterpiece actually.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Capones. Poured a good looking medium to thicker bodied dark black with a full foamy beige head. Aroma is nice, notes of smoked meat, pork and ham, campfire. Flavor is big and roasty with smoke and campfire along with pork and a touch of dark chocolate. Palate is spot on with a big full body that is slightly syrupy along with average carbonation and a creamy finish. This was probably the best beer of the trip.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark bodied, stable head. Mocha, biscuit, bit meaty, earthy, some cacao, woody piney hops base. Nice body (to justify the 7%) for a straight proter, not overly foamy too. Yeast is clean enough. Very decent although somewhat uninteresting porter. (33cl bottle from Dranken Geers)
