cheapdark (1529), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 26, 2007 Updated: Sep 27, 2007Served at the North Country brewpub. Very clear and almost transparent. Just a slight hint of light yellow. No head and no visible carbonation. Sweet apple aroma. Nearly flat on the palate but there is a quaint tingle that is everpresent. This makes it slightly different from a pure apple wine. Pretty sweet on the taste buds, somewhat mouth coating. Has a rather alky feel to it that shines thru the apple tartness. Quite interesting. Not as enjoyable as other more carbonated apple ciders or wines I’ve tasted. Finish is sweet and lacks any bitterness what so ever. However, that alky bite is something a little more than I expected, leaves you with a warm feeling in the digestive track. Reminds me a bit of Putney Mountain Scott Farm Spy. This pure apple beverage is much better than those wanna be alko pops made by Hornsby and K Cider. Not in the same league as my favorite cider, Fly Creek Original Hard Cider.
