Panzerfaust (374), Santiago, Chile Jan 10, 2008 Pours a very dark brown color with a big beige head that diminishes slowly and leaves a gorgeous, fantastic lacing.
Aroma is toasted and chocolatey, with hints of cocoa, dark chocolate, truffles and mildly toasted grains.
Flavor is sweet, with hints of dark fruits, chocolate, truffles and banana split with caramel. I think it has the problem of being too sweet as every new beer from the current Volcanes roster.
Body is thick, smooth. It has low carbonation. Fullfilling, strong finish. Aftertaste has banana and chocolate. Nice try, but needs to tone down the sweetness.
KingGambrinus (78), Santiago, Chile Jun 28, 2008 (bottle) Dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, mokka, grapes, and some hints of roasted malt. Flavor is sweet and mildly bitter, very chocolatey. Creamy texture, medium body. Not as sweet as the Chocolate Bock, I think this amount of sweetness is okay as it is well balanced with the bitterness. ha1ag (214), Netherlands Jun 4, 2008 Bottled in Puerto Vargas, Chile. Color is very nice dark brown, with huuuuge long-lasting beige head. Nose is full of black chocolate, and roassted malt. Flavour is sweet, with chocolate, banana and some cinammon. Panzerfaust is right, it is a bit too sweet. Very nice brew, but less sweet please. Photo sent, almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile Dec 24, 2007 Little, very little aroma. Has too much gas, much. The taste is rather tart. This does know anything!. is like to take a black potion. Bad.
