An unclear orange-brown beer with a disappearing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and oranges, while the flavor primarily is sweet with notes of yeast. The body is thin.

(Bottle 25 cl) Hazy amber colour with a small, creamy head. A nose of overripe plums? Very light-bodied with pronounced, fruity esters. Very soft and lightly malty, but lacks both character and hops in the palate. 280705

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6427) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUL 24, 2005
Lightly hazy chestnut beer; fleeting tan head. A bit of rosewater, very flowery nsoe, and a salty touch - the eel? Nose finishes as pure mango. Sweet, touch of honey but with an artificial touch. A pinch of salt, and again, the retronasal flavour is once more mango. Medium bodied, a bit fizzy, finishes a bit cloying. OK, just not convincing enough to be really interesting.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Hunsell (400) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - DEC 2, 2004
Huge head, quickly disappearing. Nice, interesting aroma, initially a bit sweet, but strange annoying aftertaste. Fishy? Couldn’t really find out what is was,
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 jerohen (1775) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - AUG 23, 2004
Amber coloured, large beige head, tons of yeast, lots of carbonation. Malty and fruity aroma. Bit sweet, very watery mouthfeel. But if this is the worst Volendam brew i think they’re ok.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 jbrus (4989) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2004
Light caramel aroma with light sour fruits and a bit hoppy. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Caramel, medium sweet, light hoppy, maybe a bit soapy. Bit thin but a very nice beer anyway.
