3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
25CL Bottle bought at the bierkoning in Amsterdam. Hazy dark nutty brown color with an enormous head, that keeps growing after pouring. Intensely grainy, jello-like aroma with anise hints; vinous and brandy-like, even slightly oaky. Some sharp alcohol present. Grainy-sugary-syrupy flavor with dried fruit, smooth, warming alcohol, some salty licorice. Medium to full-bodied, low- but foamy-carbonated, warming palate.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 25cl, from trade with jbrus. Itís a dark orange-golden beer with lots of carbonation and chunks floating. A dense, off-white head sits on top. Citrusy, slightly sourish nose with spices, alcohol and syrupy notes. Sweet, peachy, syrupy flavor with good bitterness. A bit low on bitterness in the finish maybe, as all the initial sweetness are present in the finish as well. Full-bodied and warming. A quite decent beer, but it looks a bit ugly with all the big floaties, reminding me of Abbaye des Rocs. 091016
