„Volfas Engelman“ is a pride of interwar Lithuania, the best Lithuanian beer which received the highest evaluations in different exhibitions from Kaunas to Paris.

568 ml bottle. Clear pale golden body with a small white head. Weak aroma of grain, more than less just like a weak version of any mass produced industrial lager. Not much favor either, corn with some light harsh bitterness. Thin and watery body almost no aftertaste. Very boring and close to unpleasant.

Barva: světlá zlatá, pěna střední, nedržící. Vůně: příjemná lehká obilná. Chuť: ostřejší nástup, vyšší říz, střední hořkost, krátký chmelový dozvuk, pitelnost slušná. Na konec musím pochválit hezkou láhev.

1 pint bottle from a supermarket in Kaunas, clear gold colour, small fizzy white mostly vanishing head, fair lacing. Moderately malty aroma of grain and straw with light grassy and peppery hops and a hint of butter. Taste is initally moderately sweet and acidic with some minerals turning into a lightly bitter finish. Medium body, oily mouthfeel, lively carbonation. A fairly ok lager with a bit too little bitterness.

Canned 568ml. -from Iki supermarket Vilnius. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty nose. Dryish malty, grainy, slightly lactic and some sweet fruity notes in the finish. Not so pleasant, and I’m sure if Gurthnar tried this beer, one of his words is going to be vomit for sure...Cheers Peter;)))

Ogi’s, from Lithuania, pint can, thanks! Poured a golden body with a medium sized white head. Dry malty aroma, slightly sweetish perhaps. Empty, dry taste, some mild sweetish graininess perhaps, extremely, extremely light bitter note. Seriously? No off flavors, but, then again, pretty much no flavors at all. Yeah, I kinda dig the Volfas Engelman graphical/historical scheme. Too bad the beers aren’t nearly worth it.
