COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
„Volfas Engelman“ is a pride of interwar Lithuania, the best Lithuanian beer which received the highest evaluations in different exhibitions from Kaunas to Paris.

Can. Straw yellow body, short-lived white head. Nose is pale malts, metallic grassy notes and hints of wet paper. Taste is sweet pale malts, maize and some faint grass tones. Metallic aftertaste. Light body, fizzy carbonation. Yuck. The most pleasing thing about this beer must be the elaborate aluminum foil wrapped around the top of the can, which is kind of a nice (albeit horribly kitschy) touch. :-P

Can from Lithuanica, Birmingham. This is most certainly a game of two halves. Smells like a bald tennis ball. Upon swigging however, that early unpromise fades away to reveal a minerally, well constructed lager which hints at Germanic-ness. So far so good, but then it blemishes itself with a finish of rabid formica and Co-Op shelving during a stock check. I sort of like it.

Bottle, from an ethnic foodstore in Scunthorpe. Pale gold, thin shortlived white head and low condition. Gentle fruity sweet maltiness and low mineral hop notes in the nose, full bodied and mouthfilling in the mouth with a solid chalky grain note balanced by an insistent hoppiness, finish is clean and fruity wih a slightly honeyed hop note.

At the Grand Lager Tasting, thanks Naam, pours pale yellow with a nice head, aroma of cheese, marmalade, grass and some acids, flavor of malt with some sweetness and alcohol notes, light body.

568ml can. Pours pale gold with a small head. Aroma is grass, lemon and corn. Taste is sweet and has lemon to start, a little grass with some corn in the finish.

Very light yellow color, almost too clear. Flat taste with small taste of malts, Öl for bitterness. Served as special but isn't. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Pours clear yellow with a small white head, heavy carboination. Mass produced lager staple. Smells of cornstarch, some funky moldy scent. Taste is a light euro lager. This is not bad but not worth seeking out.

Bought at Rimi Market in Vilnius. Pale yellow color that start with a nice white head but gone fast. Aroma is weak, some malt notes. Flavor is a little bit bitter with malt and something else. I couldn’t define it. Mouthfeel is kind of malty, sweet only. At least a cheap beer. :)

At a tasting, thanks zvikar, small but quite stable head, pale yellow colour, light aroma of lemon and cheese, light bitterness and a touch of fruity sweetness dissapearing quite quickly. Not terribly offensive, but not to good either.
