0.33l can. This is a crystal clear golden one with a big and somewhat lasting off-white lager head. It smells a bit like margarine and nuts mixed with something soft fruity - zesty perhaps and a hint of nail polish without acetone (yeah my girlfriend has one, so I know) The taste is not bad at all actually. It’s medium-bodied, has a average carbonation level in a lily texture. Clear near raw alcohol in the really nutty and malty taste. Not unpleasant at all to drink this. Is’s soft, yet it has a bit of a punch from the relatively high alcohol percent. Leaving a sweet and mildly dry taste in the mouth. Not great but still perhaps the best I’ve had from this brewery. 07.08.2012

Hecatombe.

330 ml can bought at CitySuper in Habour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Clear golden amber colour; Half finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Excellent good sticky lacing with quite fizzy slight carbonation; Aroma of Amber malt, with strong corn, grains, honey, strong floral, light caramel, sugar, bread, light lemon and grass; Medium sweet taste of Amber malt, with grains, floral, caramel, light syrup, bread, lemon, close to strong bitter hops and strong grass; Medium body. Quite thick and slick slick palate; Mouth feel is pretty solid maltyness in a thick and slightly soapy background. More malt than the wimpy Estrella Damm without adjunct tastes. Floral, grainy and fairly bready. Sweetness is tolerable light syrup, countered by strong, hop extract-like bitterness. Lemon to round. Okay… Hoppiness is strong floral, light lemon and grass in nose, and same in taste but stronger; Bitterness is strong, very extract-like for a lasting, high astringent sweet bitter malty finish; Slightly dry after taste. Sweet and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is a jacked-up, more maltier version of Damm lagers: it has grainy corny aroma, slightly soapy body and pretty nasty hop extract bitterness, but overall the malt taste is quite wholesome, passable strong sweetness and fairly pleasant flowery palate. An okay Spanish SPL. Drinkable.

Can. Typical corn and metallic flavours, yet not as strong as others though. Some bitterness, rather sweet. Low carbonation. Some off tastes though, which I fail to describe.

Weak bleach white head, carbonation plenty of, boring lager body. Tin and rotting cabbage on the nose like all them cheap Euro lagers. Now I feel like I should be a Russian football fan, or an English one, tipping over tables at the restaurants outside. But I drink it anyway: It’s a lot of cereal grain, maybe Frosted Flakes, sugary like that. Cloying finish. Hold your nose and chug, it’s the only way through.

On tap at Cerveseria in the Barcelona airport served in a 30 cl chalise. Clear deep golden/light amber with small white head. Aroma is malt with a hint of alcohol, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is malt and some alcohol. Not for me.
