Bottled (BB 12/2009)
Dark ruby color, small brownish head. Lot of big lumps of yeast. Chocolate, roasted malts, raisins and kandi sugar in the aroma. Carbonated mouthfeel. Quite strong alcohol presence, but balanced malty and fruity palate, touch of oak and licorice. Tasty and complex.

Backlog rating 1-05-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a medium sized very fizzy head that mostly diminished, fast rising carbonation, very little lacing, and a slightly cloudy body. The Aroma is sweet, dark fruits, hints of cherries, and alcohol. The Taste is sweet, dark fruits and alcohol. The Palate is tingly with a warming sensation and this beer is medium bodied. All-in-all, this beer is very quaffable, worth a try and a beer that I would drink again.

Bottle @ home. Aroma is caramel, molasses, some dust. Meh. Flavour is sweet caramel, some red fruits. Meh.

From BA (April 2008): Fancy labelled 330ml Bottle, poured into a Forbidden Fruit challice glass. Now owned/brewed by Liefmans I believe. Deep Ruby Red with a huge biege head sat on top, looked great. Rich molasses and malty aroma, very sickly sweet smell really. Too sweet, the strong alcohol feel is all wrong too. Fizzy and malty, but an unsuspecting tourist beer to me (check out the front label). Just not ’my cup of tea’, it is just a sweet brew, well packaged and playing on the Belgian beer scene like more and more beers seem too.

Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Unclear dark brown color, off-white to beige head. Smell malts, caramel and some decent roastyness. Taste is decent, not much to tell. Low carbo, low to medium body.

Bottle from Bager... Thanks! Pours a clear dark brown with a light beige head. Smells of dried friuts. Sweet with aromas of caramel and dried friuts. Also hints of alcohol and residual sugars. Medium to full bodied. Medium to high carbonation. Bitter finish.

Gut! 7/12/11/12//12

Bottle. The aroma of malt, wine and grapes, some Sherry. The large pale beige foamy head has a long duration, the body is nearly black. The taste is a nice balance between a light sourness and malt with a long duration, the finish is mild. The body is medium strong, creamy and fizzy with a lot of carbonation.

Dark sweet beer. Coca cola like with a sour malt undertone. Frothy dry finish with a nice carbonated snap.

Comes in a 4-pack with a best before date written on the cap, OCT2010. Pours a crazy off-white foamy head that has pretty good retention and leaves also foamy lacing. Colour is dark raspberry red with vivid carbonation. No sourness in the nose, just strong alcohol and some grain malt. Maybe some light cherries, but still not pleasant enough. Lots of red apples, like MacIntosh, in the taste with slight burn in the finish. Some raisins in aroma and flavours. An average brew, but will try back in a few years, as I have two more to cellar. For now, to strong for nothing.
