3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. This beer is an oasis in the very barren beer desert that is Fiji. Stands alone above other local brands available. Golden amber with a slim white head. Not the best looking beer but goes down a treat while watching the tropical sunset over the ocean.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured a crystal clear yellow golden colour with a two-finger white foamy head that held quite a while and laced quite well. Carbonation high with lots of coarse bubbles. Aroma of grain and slightly sweet malt is quite pleasant but typical of a lager. Taste quite sweet and no obvious hops bitterness, a bit bland. Light body. Crisp refreshing mouthfeel. Aroma, taste and palate do not differentiate it much from other lagers.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured into a shaker. Fiji tick! Pours a dark gold with minimal head. Aroma is very sweet. Corn and grains. Taste is light bitter. Follows aroma with some light herbal hops. Interesting. Pretty standard pale lager with a hint of something a little extra. Neat.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle (330ml) with BB 20/12/14. Deep golden appearance with medium loose white head. Nose offers not much - some honey, sweet grainy malts, wet cardboard. Taste is bland sweet syrupy malts and little else. Palate is light and thin. I was reminded of those Asian lagers that add rice to the malt bill.

Bottle at Craig’s. It pours clear golden with decent white head. The nose is sweet, doughy, orange muffin and straw? The taste is crisp, grassy, dough, touch of paper and cardboard with a dry finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Smells ok, tastes so-so.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Fiji island lager hey, got to put that one in the basket!
Produces up a deep amber with a loose, diminishing foam that manages just an autograph of lace. Nose is soft, almost absent, but what I do pick up is fresh, damp kelp, almond meal and steaming, glutinous rice. A little too much DMS and diacetyl plague this one for taste. Buttery and vegetal with a slickness and late drabby hop note. Umami here too; the seaweed is the dominant flavour. Rubbery, plasticine phenols come through as it warms. This is not in good form at all. A fresh batch on a vacation visit is warranted here. Not easy to finish! (33cL, BB 20/12/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
