3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jb (1809) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 26, 2011
Nice nose of pine and tropical fruit. Pale, with a billowing head, a slight haze to it. Taste-wise it is English style, a bit malty, toffee, biscuits, the hops are there but take a back seat. Good.

650 ml bottle from Linus_stick. Pours a slightly cloudy copper color with a huge off-white head that had good retention and left plenty of lacing. Aroma is complex with earth, spices (thyme and white pepper) and some citrus. The flavor showcases a high IBU profile with distinctly biter cascade hops taking center stage. In addition to the hops there is a good presence of caramel and citrus. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long giving way to lingering biter hops. Overall: A very well crafted IPA. Thanks again Linus.

29 June 2011, bottle. light orange, hazy, no bubbles, thin foamy head. great nose! tart, bitter grassy hops, sweet alcohol, some green raisins. med body and fizzy. sugary malt and bitter grassy hops. bitter hops are drying but not a long finish. absolutely perfect. sweet enough, bitter enough. not excessive in any way but big enough to be noticeable. great!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jason (1670) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2007
Bottle. Poured a nice amber body with thin head. Aroma was different than a typical IPA. The citrus hops that are normally associated with IPA’s was missing but instead there was a nice slight berry smell with malt notes. Flavor has a wonderful sweet malt body. This is something that is missing from alot of IPA’s that focus more on hops than the balance of the beer itself. Most can be rough, this was very sessionable. In fact I really enjoyed having this to myself on a cold rainy afternoon. Some candy flavors left on the flavor. The mouthfeel was excellent, lightly dry crisp taste. Look forward to trying other from this new brewery.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nickls (1654) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - FEB 25, 2011
Bottle. Somewhat of a gusher with a massive four fingers of very light tan foamy head on a dark, murky coppery orange. Musty, grapefruit, and a little dank in the aroma which is nice. Flavor is less hoppy and pungent in the flavor, with muted grapefruit, pine, and caramel and I can’t help but think that the scraping carbonation from what seems to be a bottling problem really drives down the flavor. Needs some cleaning up, but not horrible.

Darkish chestnut color with a thin white head. Aroma is tropical fruit bubble gum, and a hint of cinnamon. Taste is malt forward, with a trailing piney edge, and caramel sweetness into the finish. $2.5/12oz

I thought this was a nicely balanced IPA that had a good floral aroma and a good pour.

Deep amber with a foamy head. A hoppiness to it, but somewhat weak for an IPA. Mediocre for the style, lacking in punch, flavor and hops.
