Sampled from a bottle opened by boltz777 -- thanks, Jason! Pours espresso in color with a trim tan head. Smells predominantly of toasted malt and coffee grounds. Builds on these flavors with added notes of milk cocoa, and vanilla. Really sweet on the palate and quickly dries on the finish. Not bad, but certainly not ambitious.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of agl108. A deep mahogany pour with a thick mocha head. Cocoa, chocolate, coffee, caramel, plums, an ashy woodsiness, and some anise in the aroma. Medium-bodied and kinda smooth on the way down. Caramel, cocoa, dark fruits, and some chocolatey flavors upfront in the taste. Roasted coffee at the end. Kinda boozy with plenty of warming alcohol throughout.

Bottle share. Cloudy, almost black. Aroma of roasted nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, charred marshmallow, vanilla. Taste is bitter with a slight sweetness. Low carbonation, creamy, and good sustained dry finish.

Sampled at the Voodoo Brewery. Excellent chewy Stout! Nice low dark brown head, with nice lacing as the beer disappears, with an oily syrupy look to the inside of the glass. Loved the coffee/ chocolate, dark fruits that are up front with this huge stout. Only wished they would have had the barrel aged version for comparison.

Bomber: Thanks Ferillo: Think itís a 2008 vintage: Served at 15 degrees Celsius in a shaker: Almost pitch black pour. Pitch black in my glass it is. Small to medium sized brown head. Some typical roasty aromas, but also wood, liquorice, tobacco, dried roasted leaves, malt toast/roast, some honey, oatmeal and sweet soy. Flavour is a nice mix of rye, wood, spice, roast, malt roast, bay leaf roast, bitters, some liquorice, mocha, raisin, some herbal roast, cacoa, light nutty and some dark chocolate. Aftertaste of cookies, bitter, roast, some bay leaf, mocha, liquorice, wood... Low carbo, close to silky mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Delicious stuff!

Bottle via Michael K. Pours a dark brown/black, little bit of tan head. Aroma boozy, woody, some fruity character. Body somewhat dry, finish green apples, some spice. Good but not top tier.

2011 bottle poured into a big tulip glass. Almost the whole damn bomber fits in the glass. Didnít realize it was so big. Anyhow, the beer has a very dark appearance, thick, black, pretty much the color of used motor oil. There is decent sized head of khaki colored foam. Fair retention. A think coat sits atop the beer minutes after the pour, so I think thatís pretty good considering alcohol content. The aroma has dry roasty malt, leathery, earthy, leafy. I get some sweetness in here, too, but it is a lot of drier bitterness. Itís almost ashy, but just not quite there. Thicker mouthfeel with subtle carbonation. As I drink the beer, I notice beautiful sheets of lacing are coating the glass all the way around. That is awesome. The more I drink it, the more I pick up on sweet notes, like if I was eating a chocolate cake with not near enough sugar in it. I donít pick up a lot of wood character, but iím finding some mellow, subtle vanilla notes. A bit of dry red wine character, as well. Iím not saying I can taste wine, but it more reminds me of it. Hints at it, if you will. The mouthfeel is very smooth and velvety. This beer has held up very well. I only wish I knew what it was like fresh.

Bottle thanks to CarolinaKevin! Pours inky black, small secondary tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is very roasty, molasses, some ash. Flavor is light sweet, medium plus bitter, roasty, chocolate, a bit of smoky ash, tobacco, some oak. Medium plus body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty solid. ABV well hidden. Lots of long lingering bitterness, with a touch of anise.
