COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Is our Imperial Stout that we age in conditioning tanks with oak staves. This adds a classic character of old world aging with out the Bourbon tones. This black ale is about 12% alc. and very rich in roasted and chocolate malt tones. Velvety smooth and able to be aged for years.

Sampled from a bottle opened by boltz777 -- thanks, Jason! Pours espresso in color with a trim tan head. Smells predominantly of toasted malt and coffee grounds. Builds on these flavors with added notes of milk cocoa, and vanilla. Really sweet on the palate and quickly dries on the finish. Not bad, but certainly not ambitious.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours opaque black with thin tan head. Nose some roast, almost smells like barrel aged, lighter coffee and dark fruit. Taste some sweeter malt up front, then dark roast. Mid palate moderate bitter like bakers chocolate. Body a little thin for bigger beer. Iím guessing that the age of this sample isnít doing it any favors. Drank side by side with the barrel age version and liked this one better. A bit more fruit flavors

Shared bomber to snifters. All of the usual roastiness etc but itís definitely oxidized.

Bigger bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Very dark, near-black color. Ring of tan head, some splotches of lace. Oxidization aromas in the nose. Dark fruit, some paper. Good dark chocolate and mild coffee too, but a bit off for me at the moment. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft crisp lighter carbonation, mildly slick. A bit thinner than Iíd expect for a 12% american imperial stout. More dry in the finish. Moderate bitter taste, moderate sweet, mild bite to the taste. Some smoke. OK, but the staleness is very evident to me. Much past itís prime.

Pours a nice deep and dark brown and murky with a small tan head. Aromas of wood, dark chocolate, coffee, nuts, bread, and some alcohol. Taste was lightly sweet and e medium bitterness. Nice chocolate and coffee notes. Full body with a oily texture and a medium bitter finish to it. Very tasty.

Bottle. Does not taste like a 12abv beer. A bit porter like actually. Notes of cocoa, milk chocolate and coffee. Medium roastiness.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of agl108. A deep mahogany pour with a thick mocha head. Cocoa, chocolate, coffee, caramel, plums, an ashy woodsiness, and some anise in the aroma. Medium-bodied and kinda smooth on the way down. Caramel, cocoa, dark fruits, and some chocolatey flavors upfront in the taste. Roasted coffee at the end. Kinda boozy with plenty of warming alcohol throughout.
