Woodshed 3.0! Big thanks to dak for saving this whole series and sharing with us. Awesome!! Bottle pours with a dark mahogany body that exhibits some staining to the glass when swirled around. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, dark roasted coffee, some boozy whiskey, a bit of spicy oak and then coconut bringing up the aromatic rear. The taste delivers brown sugar sweetness and sweet malts rolling into dark roasted malts and some chocolate notes. It gets into sweet boozy whiskey toward the finish. Nice and pretty smooth considering the huge ABV.

Very nice beer! Super dark brown pour, medium brown head. Brownies and bourbon. Can’t get any better! Light roasted malt, but the is one is sweet and really good.

Bottle shared @ Woodshed 3.0 via Dak! Nice integration of barrel and base beer here. Thick and luxurious. Fudge, brownie, oak, vanilla, and complimentary bourbon. The alcohol content was surprisingly hidden. Delicious.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours new moon-black with no head. The nose is fruity, fortified and deeply roasted – dark berries, burnt malt, whiskey and dried plum. Full-bodied with faint carbonation – it’s seriously on life support. The flavor is an assortment of cohesive notes – sweet, Cuban-style cafe con leche, charred malts, prune, Kentucky bourbon and just a smidge of blackstrap molasses. Mildly boozy, throat and belly-warming finale. As always, thanks go out to landhoney for landing yet another whale for the south Florida crew to savor!

Pour is opaque jet black with a dark mahogany head. Nose is huge and rich. Very bourbon county rare esq. nose has more wood and is slightly nutty. Rich chocolate batter and sweet whiskey. Flavor is also huge, not sugary, subtle wood and whiskey notes up front. Chocolate cake batter, semi sweet dark chocolate, faint nuttiness mid palate, fairly sweet malt backbone. Very full body but not syrupy, gentle carbonation and slightly dry finish with a bit of heat and another punch of barrel and whiskey. This stuff is good!

Shared this one with a bunch of close friends and Matthew Allyn, Brewmaster at Voodoo.

A - Pours jet black with a nice one finger tall tan head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty streaks of lace down the sides of the glass.

S - Smells of warm bourbon, vanilla, fudgey chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, oak and plenty of dark roasted malts. A little rough around the edges but all in all an awesome nose.

T - Starts off with quite a bit of sugary sweetness; mainly vanilla beans and chocolate fudge batter; quickly giving way to the dark fruit, oak and quite a bit of warming bourbon heat. The booze burn is probably strongest in this version compared to the others. Finish is a mix of sweetness and dark roast with a plenty of booze, lingering on the palate long after each sip.

M - Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Big, thick feel with plenty of booze throughout yet it is still drinkable.

O - This is one massive beer. As I said before, I think it is still a little rough around the edges and could use some time to mellow out. As it stands now, I would say I prefer it second to the PVW but still an awesome beer.

Pours solid black with no foam head. My glass only had a defined brown ring that hugged my glass. The aroma is of sweet bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee, molasses, and subtle roasted malt notes. In tasting I picked up on a pleasant but potent bourbon booze, bitter cocoa, medium levels of vanilla, sweet malts, sweetener additive, butter like flavor, and the texture is heavy. The finish was bitter, boozy, and had a sweet malt taste. Overall a good beverage to sip and relax with.

Dark brown pour with fleeting light brown head. Fantastic chocolate nose. Delicious with loads of chocolate, carmel, bourbon, and oak notes. Sweet, but not overly so. Outstanding mouthfeel with a good body. Not quite as good as the PVW version, but still very very good...

Bottle, blue wax. Oily black pour with creamy borwn head. Chocolate brownie booze bomb, dark fruits, tobacco, molasses and licrorice, bourbon aromas struggling to even be recognized amongst the competition. Flavor is really boozy, rich, super sweet, intense milk chocolate flavors, diabetic special. Syrupy palate, very rich, but pretty enjoyable for the style, nice alcohol warmth. Interesting and actually pretty good, but 4 oz was loads for me.
