On tap, nitro, black pour, creamy white head. Thick and rich, mild chocolate and enough to get the oats mixed in. Very nice.

(on Tap) Pours a very dark black with a nice tan head that stays and doesn’t dissipate like many others. The aroma is of sweet milk chocolate and it taste pretty much the same. Its almost like drinking chocolate milk. Its very smooth. Its just a little too sweet for me as a beer but its nice to change things up once in a while.

On nitro at Pinocchio’s. Dark brown with ruby red edges. Lots of milk chocolate with milky lactic notes. I’m a little disappointed with all the high recent ratings. Just too sweet.

on nitro dark opaque black, with a finger of light brown head, silky creamy light touch of chocolate and hint of vanilla, very fine carbonation. Flavorful and smooth easy to drink you don’t notice the 8.5ABV.

Nitro tap. You could chug this if you wanted to, it?s that smooth. I wouldn?t recommend it because you should savor every moment. The aroma has deep strong vanilla and brown sugar. The taste is very sweet and black gold. Great beer. Marshmallow and a tiny note of chocolate. Doesn?t seem like a 8.5% at all.

Transfer from BA review on 2-3-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served a pitch black color with a cascading of brown bubbles billowing up through the brew. A thick head is left sitting atop the beer, fading slowly over time to give a good level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is dark and sweet. The dark notes are of a chocolate, roasted malt and coffee aromas with the sweet being mainly of a milk/lactose aroma. With these smells there are other lighter notes of an earthy nature as well as some light hints of toffee and caramel. Overall the mix of the aromas gives delicious roasty and sweet smell to the beer. Taste – The taste begins with a strong coffee and chocolate flavor. These are sweeter and creamier up front with notes of caramel and oatmeal. A milk/lactose flavor comes to the tongue while the caramel fades creating a mocha cappuccino like flavor on the tongue. As the taste advances to the end it dries out slightly with more coffee coming to the tongue bittering it a bit. While slightly less sweet, the beer is vary balanced and smooth at the end, leaving an enjoyable dark and creamy taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is creamy and thick with it coating the mouth in a lighter but smooth bath of carbonation. The feel is a fantastic, chewy, and soothing delight with all the wonderful dark and sweet flavors accentuated by the silky feel of the brew. Overall- A tasty brew with a good feel and the right balance between roast and sweet. A rather easy drinking and tasty imperial.

The nose shows some mild cream with maybe a hit of vanilla. The palate has the creaminess I was hoping for but it doesnt deliver the great deep flavor it could. That being said I love the texture and like the rest.

On nitro at the Barrel House for beer week. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate milk, and burnt brownies. Pours pure black with a medium brown head. Taste is delightfully smooth with notes of fudge, cocoa, and roast coffee. Silky smooth mouthfeel and not too sweet or sticky. This is a real crowdpleaser.

Tap (nitro). Pours deep, dark brown with a pillow of creamy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla extract, light earthiness, and faint prunes. Flavor is chocolate, light roast, vanilla sweetness, light bitterness, and faint dark fruits; creamy, smooth finish. Medium body and carbonation.
