COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gran Met (Grand Master) is a Flash of delicate flavors. This Holy Grail of Belgian styles is on for the Connoisseur of Craft Beer. We at Voodoo use a special technique of adding the beet sugar to the ale as it is fermenting to soften the alcohol flavor production. This helps in the delicate nature of this ale. We also use traditional brewing for the unique profile. We hop you feel that we are doing our best to honor this wonderful heritage.

Ingredients: Belgian 2 row, Belgian light candy sugar, beet sugar, Hallertau hops, and our house tripel yeast. 29 IBUs.

2008-10-02. Crisp yellow body, small white head. Sweet aroma of pale malt, sugars and light spice notes. Sweet flavour, sugary character, lightly grainy underlying malts blend well with a light spice. Overall impression is dominated by sweetness. Very smooth average plus palate. (3+) Pleasant, but a bit too sweet. Very much like many other average attempts at a Belgian style brew. Bottle Shared by Blankboy

Bottle shared by acrdz, thanks dude. Poured a clear golden color with a thin white head that diminished to a ring. Aroma of pale malts with some light fruitiness including orange and apricot, and a bit of yeastiness. Lightly tart, wheaty entry with some light hints of fruit (mainly orange) leading into a yeasty finish with some light spice. Moderate mouthfeel, prickly carbonation. Decent effort, but it needs some refinement to be truly enjoyable.

22oz bottle pours mostly clear light gold with a white colored head. Nose is initially hallway strong candy sugar and nail polish, turning slightly towards a pillowy but strong yeast. Flavor is mostly sharp nail polish and other chemicals mixed with your more typical Belgian strong golden candied straw and hearty. Overall it’s decent for a few sips but I can’t manage to drink much more of it.

22oz bottle, CaptainCougar. Thanks, Tom! Pours a slightly hazy, whitened golden color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Fair amounts of husks, cereal, and light citrus bitterness in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: pretty astringent upfront; very bitter citrus and wheat husks; not terribly drinkable; rough edges; with plenty of alcohol coming through. Rough stuff. Lengthy finish: candy sugar, bitter citrus, and wheat husks.

Bottle from variety case. Really nice Belgian, I thought at first it might be too carbonated but it was fine well balanced, little head and fairly clear. sweetfruit odors and great fruit tatse with apples and pears.
