COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gran Met (Grand Master) is a Flash of delicate flavors. This Holy Grail of Belgian styles is on for the Connoisseur of Craft Beer. We at Voodoo use a special technique of adding the beet sugar to the ale as it is fermenting to soften the alcohol flavor production. This helps in the delicate nature of this ale. We also use traditional brewing for the unique profile. We hop you feel that we are doing our best to honor this wonderful heritage.

Ingredients: Belgian 2 row, Belgian light candy sugar, beet sugar, Hallertau hops, and our house tripel yeast. 29 IBUs.

Cloudy amber beer. Semi dry palate. Very odd flavour. Like a dry spicy tripel but with an odd tangy sweetness. Finishes dry and quite warming. Doesn’t hang together for me.

Bottle. Poured clear amber color with medium frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Complex citrus, fruity, candy sugar and yeasty aroma. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a sticky texture and lively carbonation. Good brew.

A lightly hazed blonde belgian ale with a thin white head. In aroma, lightly fruity esters with orange peels, coriander, creamy and smooth. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with orange peels, light Belgian hops, loads of warming alcohol, not bad. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Bottle… Pours cloudy and yellow with a small, fizzy, white head. Tropical-fruity, sweet, doughy aroma - not overly spicy or phenolic. Full-bodied and creamy with lively, jumpy carbonation. Tropical fruit sweetness up front, followed by mellow bitterness that provides a facade of balance. Lengthy, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet), slowly fading finish. Kudos to dmschefke for providing the bottle!

Cask at Brazen Head. Very pale golden beer. This head. Aroma is lightly spicy with a strong nose of apricot and peach character. Quite sweet with a fairly sweet character that I find typical of American-style tripels. Slight yeasty and a little bit fruity. There is also a light touch of light berryish sweetness. Soft bitterness but with a strong lingering chewy sweetness. Meh...

CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - DEC 6, 2009
Bottle sampled on 6/28/08: Pours a transparent golden yellow with a wispy lacing white head. Aroma of phenolic sweet biscuity Belgian malts and a touch of ginger and coriander. Body starts effervescent and lightly floral with some candy sweetness and a touch of lemon citrus before a drier warming finish. An ok Belgian strong, but needs some time to mellow.
