2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle... Hazy amber pour with orange sparkles and a small, fleeting, fizzy, white head. Smells, tastes and burns like carbonated apple brandy. Full-bodied with zippy carbonation. Hot apple brandy finish with minerals. This is really all about the apple brandy. Unfortunately, I don’t like apple brandy - at all.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle sent to me by agold. Thanks!
A: Gold color with a white head. Lacing.
N: Grappa, apple brandy, grape husk, caramel and vanilla. Hint of the apples, grain, esters, coriander.
T: Sweet, not cloying.
M: Tingling carb, oily, on the bigger side of medium.
O: If you don’t like Grappa (even though that’s not the barrel used), I can see this one being horrible for you. I like the grape brandy flavor, however, so I got enjoyment out of this one. It’s not a great beer, but it won’t kill your tastebuds, at least.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Luke. Pours a copper straw color with a small white head. A huge sweet vinous brandy nose. The flavor is big hot sugary brandy, light sweet banana esters, the heat is just overpowering like a much stronger drink. How much brandy is in this? 9.5% seems very low. The vinous sugary flavor is fine, but way over the top. The base just wasn’t enough to keep up. That said, this is a fine drink. Just in small doses.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Big big apple brandy notes, pie spices, and lighter peachy fruity notes. Big and boozy, but enough of the base beer comes through to make it drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2014-08-16. Hazy amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is super boozy with apple brandy notes and alcohol. Flavour is similarly quite boozy, dry alcohol and woody apple brandy finish. Average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay, but the alcohol and barrel significantly dominate the character. Bottle at Campground Brewdown

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Ben. Slightly hazed amber body, the fizzly white head is completely gone within seconds, like a soda pop fizz. Aroma is nothing but green apple, pungent booze, mild nail polish remover, more apple, & more booze. Smells... rough around the edges. Tastes that way, too. Taste like a 50/50 mix of unpasteurized apple cider & straight up alcohol. Acetone-y. The brandy overtakes everything, & comes at you with an over-the-top intense sweetness which makes it even tougher to drink. Hot brandy, sweet apple cider, & rubbing alcohol. Thanks for the chance to try this, Ben, but it’s certainly not my jam. Nothing about this resembles a Tripel, either, lol.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Woodshed 3.0! Big thanks to dak for saving this whole series and sharing with us. Awesome!! Bottle #305 pours with a clear gold body that supports a weak off white head. The aroma offers up boozy mead like notes, sweet booze, coconut, pineapple and some brandy notes at the end of the draw. The taste is smooth with sugary sweet apricots and pineapple mixing with brandy booze and little else.
