3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz Bottle - Wegman’s State College. This one worried me a little when it poured a barely rose-tinted pale gold, with a whitish rim. I was worried this was going to be one of those skunky, rubbery, rotten fruit not really-fruit-beer beers. But it wasn’t. The aroma gave a little pungent cherry liquer and some cranberry juice blended with a nip of alcohol and some soft house yeast. Flavor was relatively mild and the fruits they used came together to form a quiet amalgamated generic "red" flavor, edging towards cherries, but coming out like cranberry jelly. The body was balanced and curt edge of fruit acids made the finish quite palatable. Nothing to get too excited about here as the flavors are at Volume 3, but this wasn’t bad.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Carson Street Deli, Pittsburgh. Pours clear golden, little head. Aroma is very fruity, raspberry. Supposedly a tripel, but little classic tripel character I?m seeing. Flavor is raspberry sweetness, artificial cherry, some Belgian fruit character, mild spice notes. Ok. Not great.

(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a very thin head. Lots of fruit and sweet malts in the aroma. Definitely get hints of raspberry and passion fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty and fruity. Lots of caramel and passion fruit with a sticky fruity finish.

First sip smacks you in the face with a bunch of fruity cranberry flavor. There’s a fruity taste all through it, but the balance doesn’t seem quite right.

Pour is a cloudy ruby red-orange with decent white build. Aroma is heavy fruit. Detecting orange, grapefruit, peach and mango. Tongue is wheat and fruit. Some acidity in there makes me think lots of citrus. It is very sweet but it isn’t overly sugar. I mean not unbearable.

Amber with a thin white head. Banana, cherry, strawberry over a tart Belgian flavor. The fruit is natural, punchy with a long finish. Interesting.

Very nice, similar to the grand met. Orange juicy flavors are replaced by tart finish which is very enjoyable.

Got in a BIF from JNForsyth. 22 ounce bottle into chalice; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart raspberry, cherry, passion fruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, clove, honey, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, fruits, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lightly tart raspberry, cherry, passion fruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, clove, honey, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spiciness and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of raspberry, cherry, passion fruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, clove, honey, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, fruits, and pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast/fruit balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome fruited tripel style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, fruits, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
22oz bottle pours hazy pink red with tiny head. Pretty messy beer overall with lots of strange rotten fruit, vegetal herb, sticky sweet caramel, burned toast, wet cereal, peppery dry yeast, syrupy, medicinal strange light robitussin cherry, no raspberry or passionfruit detectable. Not an improvement on the base beer Gran Met and actually a bit worse.

Transfer from BA review on 8-19-13-
Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed reddish-orange color with a tiny fizzy white head with tons of tiny carbonation bubbles streaming through the body of the beer. The head fades very fast leaving only the tracest level of lace on the sides of the glass and some wisps of foam on the surface of the beer.
Smell – The aroma is huge and fruity with tons of sweet raspberry and cherry smell. It almost has a cherry-berry flavored kool-aid like sweetness; sort of a candy like sugary smell. Mixed with these smells are some light tropical fruit and orange and a tiny bit of spice.
Taste – The taste begins with a citrus, yeast, and biscuit taste mixed with a rather big cherry and raspberry sweetness. As the flavors advance the raspberry and cherry grow stronger in flavor and is joined by some candied sugar which combined to produce a rather sweet brew more toward the middle of the taste. Some spice of clove and coriander later come to the tongue with some lighter grassy flavors joining as well. In the end, with even more raspberry and cherry coming to the tongue and a little bit of booze as well, one is left with a fruity raspberry triple taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the rather average to slightly creamier side with a carbonation level, as would have been expected from the appearance, consisting of prickly little carbonation bubbles. The combo is rather nice for the fruity flavors of the beer and quite appropriate for the trippel style.
Overall – A nice sweet and fruity trippel. At 9.5 % abv it is rather easy drinking and quite pleasant.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy orange with small white colored head. Aroma was all belgian yeast to me with hints of fruits, straw, and woody notes. Taste was on the sweeter malty side, straw, raspberry and cherry. I didn’t get any of the passion fruit. Bit too sweet for me, but not bad. Bottle art is pretty sweet too.
