Commercial Description:
Pilzilla, a beer Matt has dubbed a bastardized German, Czech, Polish Pils. There are a lot of things going on in the dude's head, man. It carries all the traits that they call for in a beer and then voodooized. This is a fun, unique interpretation of the beer that Matt fell in love with in Europe. It will take on it own identity and grow each year in varieties of hop and alcohol. Soon to take over Tokyo. Not yet in theaters near you.

Ingredients: premium German 2 row barley, dash of Vienna, 9 varieties of German, Czech, and Polish hops. Out house lager blend of yeast.

Bottle from Capone’s. This one pours medium gold, hazy, with a finger of whitish head and clingy lacing. The aroma is very nice; a definite big Saazy hop presence coupled with pale malt, mild florals, light skinned fruit, and mild peppery notes. The palate is medium, very crisp and clean, with an initial hop flavor giving way to pale malt, slight citrus fruit, and some peppery and floral finishing notes. Solid complexity and great balance add to this one’s greatness.

I don’t know why but i’m really excited to try this. I just wish i didn’t destroy my taste buds by smoking a swisher sweet right before this. Pours cloudy light orange with minimal head. Aroma is hoppy: earthy grassiness, spice...very german. Flavor is excellent. very balanced. strong bitterness countered by medium sweetness. bitterness lingers long after the swallow. Crisp and refreshing yet very flavorful. It doesn’t attack your palate which is nice. If this was in 12oz 6packs i’d buy it all the time. Superior beer. However, not close to being worth $9.50 a bomber. that is an absurd price, so i’m taking off some overall points. Nevertheless, worthy of my final 10 to 1000

Bomber Bottle from Champanes, pours a slight hazy yellow gold, has a huge over flowing white head, very effervescent, left lots of lacing on the glass, hop nose of grass, green leaf, herb, dry grass and floral aromas, sourness on the nose, faint malt fragrances, light malt with a good sour on the tongue, juicy lemon flavors, light biscuit and bread, has a big hop flavor that follows the aromas but without the pineyness and palate biting you get from hops used in IPAs, it has a fine hop bitterness and flavor that is very nice, there are some light fruit flavors in the background, faint sweetness at the beginning of the sip but ends with a fine hop bitterness and sour that resembles lemons all mixed in with some malt biscuit and bread flavor, mouth feel is medium or a bit less with a good bit of carbonation on the palate, easy to drink, I am surprised the rating is not higher for this beer, this is interesting stuff.

On tap at KSBF ’08. Lightly hazed golden body topped by a nice head. Big hoppy nose with some grass and lemon also present. Lots of hops in the flavor as well layered over a nice malt background. A pils-IPA hybrid? Very tasty.

(22oz bottle, thanks acrdz) Crystal clear apple juice body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some spice/grass, light honey, melon. Taste is moderately sweet, grassy, melon, some alcohol, honey. Sticky medium-full body. Strikes me as an Imperial Pils, and a pretty good one.
