COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pilzilla, a beer Matt has dubbed a bastardized German, Czech, Polish Pils. There are a lot of things going on in the dude’s head, man. It carries all the traits that they call for in a beer and then voodooized. This is a fun, unique interpretation of the beer that Matt fell in love with in Europe. It will take on it own identity and grow each year in varieties of hop and alcohol. Soon to take over Tokyo. Not yet in theaters near you.

Ingredients: premium German 2 row barley, dash of Vienna, 9 varieties of German, Czech, and Polish hops. Out house lager blend of yeast.

Holy head, Batman. Pours a slightly hazed gold with a massive creme head. Nose is clean and mild. Flavor is heavier on dough than anything with a decent earthy edge and too noticeable a sweet tone on the start. Feel is typical. It is easy to drink and certainly over-carbonated. A bit more hoppy than I would expect, but it’s nice enough.

Pours a translucent yellow with a bubbly white head of foam. Aroma is very faint but still remains grainy. Sort of medicinal. Very light and a little weird.

Institute, Philadelphia tap ($6): Pours a golden colour with a white head. Aroma is resin and citrus, along with some bread. When I was drinking it, I didn’t realize it was a pilsner, mostly because I misread the name of the beer. Hoppiness and bitterness is strong. Good.

Light golden-orange body, minimal white head, faint lacing. Fruity malts, crackery, grapefruit and grassy hops in the nose. Flavor profile shows grainy malts, and light citric and grassy hops. Smooth carbonation, light bodied, clean finish and light bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a dark slightly hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is a bit odd, some appley notes, cider, some sweet bread, herbal hops, a touch of pine. Flavor has much the same, a bit less apple which is good, more of the herbal spicy hops. Medium body and a crisp carbonation.

Tap, pour is golden, the flavour is very strong and finish is a bit harsh, not too too drinkable, it has a corny and a nice hoppiness to it, overall quite yummy

Bottle. Pours pours hazy orange with an aggressive head. Aroma has some floral notes with a tad of asringency. Taste has a good bit of caramel malt with a hop bite in the finish. There is a lot more flavor than expected.

Not much of a pilsner guy, but for this I am. This has a good amount of hops in it that actually gives this style a zing.
