wcampbell (380), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 14, 2008 Pretty good. Some of the typical grassy pilsner taste, but with a lot more to it. Decent hop flavor and medium bodied. The head was huge and seemed to keep growing for a while until it finally settled.
argo0 (6018), Washington DC, USA Jun 25, 2008 (22oz bottle, thanks acrdz) Crystal clear apple juice body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some spice/grass, light honey, melon. Taste is moderately sweet, grassy, melon, some alcohol, honey. Sticky medium-full body. Strikes me as an Imperial Pils, and a pretty good one. acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 25, 2008 22oz bottle pours mostly clear medium-dark straw color with a white head, and just a faint bit of haze. Hoppy, sharp and dry fruity yeast notes in the nose, vibrant and fresh, thick and viscous on the palate, medium to full bitterness, sticky and oily at times, lovely. kmweaver (1800), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jun 25, 2008 22oz bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a clear, medium-yellow color; thin off-white head with patchy lacing. Decent amounts of mineral and herbal bitterness in the aroma; some toasty malts and a touch of cardboard. Medium mouthfeel: some zesty mineral / herbal notes upfront; a touch of alcohol; graininess and toasty malts throughout; some astringency. A bit rough. Lengthy, bitter finish: mineral and citrus bitterness, toast, some astringency. kassner (109), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 13, 2008 This takes some getting use to. Big Dry Hops and lots of yeast. very cloudy and the taste are almost overpowering. Tremendous head and lacing. After a few drinks they hops begin to linger. rudolf (1540), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 12, 2008 Goodbar Beer Club. Clear gold, white head. Nose is big hops, plasticy malt, some undefinable fruit - strawberry? Cherry? Flavor is big pils malt, strong bitterness (not well done), butter & toffee. Its a giant & shows it - like rogue or Sam Adam’s impy pils but without finesse. Very hot for 6.7%
