Chocolate, roast and dark fruits in the aroma with just a touch of yeast. The flavor is lightly sweet, with a light to moderate bitterness. Tastes of roasted coffee, some dark fruits, and some floral hops. Medium body is very soft with gentle carbonation, excellently conditioned.

On tap at Burlington. Dark brown pour with a beautiful, thick, beige head. Aroma holds bitter roast, a touch of leafy hop, grain, and herbal notes. Flavor brings forth more bitterness and definite presence of juniper and other herbal/floral notes. Not as fruity as I expected with the raisins involved. Palate is creamy, medium bodied, and drinkable. Quite nice, particularly for the style.

(22oz bomber filled from Bierkraft thanks to bu11zeye) Dark brown. Smells sweet- sugary coffee, maple syrup. Taste has some spicier flavors- cloves, peper- complemented by toasty straw.

Brown with a thin white head. Nose of cocoa, toast, and light raisin. Flavor is more brown ale, rich malt with some bread, pepper, and a floral note, probably from the hibiscus. Balanced and pleasant with a sharp, dry body that works with the sweeter but balanced flavor. Good stuff.

The nose is quite herbal. A nice mixture of cocoa and licorice along with a bit of soft floral spiciness. Lingering cocoaish character. It’s a fairly unique brew with a nice mix of soft dry cocoa and licorice and herbs that lend an almost sweet character. I like it.

Draft: Poured a dark brown color with a thin head. The aroma and taste were earth, roasted malts, and raisins. Slightly above average for my taste.
